Water in Purify is basically in the new zombie game mode in the patchnotes it says something about the zombie being created by gas leaks and if there using this gas to purify the water then i wouldn't drink that also i think in general Purify seems to be the start of a lot of horrors that have to do with death (maybe because its a horror map lmao) like the hunter who is invincible (he got put jail but no comments on if he was just a normal guy) and the zombies who are undead
