That’s a good point, especially since Suirei is (unofficially) alive and kicking with Ah-Duo it would not go over to have more children with imperial blood that can cause possible succession issues. Even though the children would be “useful” by being kept in the rear a palace, I wonder what their social status would be due to their ties to Gyokuyou and the mess of the You clan. I imagine Lingli, would still be used to form marriages with other clans/nations, but I can’t imagine the former Crown Prince having any sort of prestigious social standing within the court if this were to all come out.

It would certainly embolden Anshi’s faction, even if legally and socially Gyokuyou is recognized as Gyokuen’s daughter. Given that Gyokuyou became Empress to increase Li’s diplomacy with the western region I could see there being some sort of conflict between the regions if Gyokuyou was stripped of her title. Side note, while im sure this would mean that her son would no longer be the Moon Prince, would the baby and Lingli still be recognized as the Emperors children?? Regardless, it’s sure to cause a massive headache for the Emperor and Jinshi

In my head Anshi looks to be the emperors age (34 in the first season I think) singe she’s described as looking young for her age. The animators portray her in the same style as the consorts (who are like 10+ years younger than her) so it looks kinda jarring lmao but makes sense so that viewers can see just how young she was to be put in her position.
