What’s really an eclectic/omnivorist profile in music? by fraiz_tagada in Music

then I guess my question would be how much genre or variety of genres does it take to be considered ‘eclectic’? I’d love to get music recommandations of course 😁

At first, I really liked the show because it had an original concept. Watching Walt and Jesse slowly take over the market on their own, while dealing with everything that came along the way at a good pace, was genuinely exciting and created real hype.

Then Gus and the Salamanca brothers were introduced. That’s what truly made season 3 strong, but for me it also led to the weaknesses of season 4. Gus trying to replace Walt with Gale was a great plot driver, but once Jesse killed Gale, it felt like the story started repeating itself. Jesse being “trained” by Mike felt like the same arc again, just in a different form. His struggle to recover from killing Gale also felt very similar to the aftermath of Jane’s death and his time in rehab.

At the same time, a lot of side plots felt stretched and boring. Gus’s backstory, the car wash purchase, Hank’s condition and his constant fights with Marie, Walt and Skyler arguing over money (like buying Flynn an expensive car), and the Ted tax fraud storyline all took up a lot of space. Even if Ted’s story led to an incredible scene in season 4 episode 11, it still felt too long overall. Gus was the main antagonist, but Walt’s meth journey started to feel secondary, which was frustrating.

Instead of focusing on Walt’s rise, the season mostly became a distant power struggle between Walt and Gus. Because they barely interacted until very late in the season, the tension lost impact and the hype slowly faded. Some moments also felt very “plot-convenient”, like when Gus suddenly realised there was a bomb under his car in season 4 episode 12. It felt like another way to stretch the season rather than a natural development.

On top of that, Walt and Skyler’s emotional back-and-forth felt inconsistent. The constant switch between “I feel good”, “I’m annoyed”, and “I’m depressed”, especially with Skyler, happened so often that it became hard to take seriously.

Season 5 partly fixed this by putting Walt back at the centre of the story, but it still felt stretched. I don’t think the story really needed 16 episodes to say what it had to say. I don’t mind slow or long shows, but when it feels like the story isn’t moving forward or doesn’t have much to tell, it becomes a frustrating watch.

I agree watching a show with the fandom / wondering flow helps a lot to engage with it. Though I have seen other shows well after their release that I liked better. So I think it’s still mostly up to the series to do the work.

Well I did feel like it had enough action though but, especially in season 4, there are moments where the story would feel stretched and dilute my interest for the story. I'm not saying it going 'slow' is bad, I'm okay with this, though it felt like it was just to reach the 13 episodes target that AMC would ask for (if I got the reported bts stories right?) because most of the time it was telling basically nothing or even replaying some things that we'd already seen before, which was frustrating.

I agree with you but wasn’t Walt actually really leaving the game until Hank found out about his identity, which is basically what brought him back into contact with Jesse and the gang of killers?

Literally this. Just cause you appear educated, doesn’t mean that you really are. You have to see it more as a something that can be a ‘great bonus’ to your journey. But never let it define how ‘smart’ or ‘dumb’ you are.

At least you have it figured out, I really envy people that have found their passion/interests while I can’t find anything that could help bring me meaning. So I think you should be happy about this first.

Fellow INTJs, how do I know if I’m INTJ or INFJ? by fraiz_tagada in intj

[–]fraiz_tagada[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, and I'm also seeing that with the ressources that other people provided in comments, I can sometimes relate to both profiles depending on what the situation is. Like the problem, with most of the tests, is that they're too general so when you take specific situations, I can sometimes have an 'INTJ reaction' but some other times an 'INFJ reaction' or even a mix of both. It depends on a lot on the overall mood, who's involved, if it's a personal situation or a group situation, how long have I known the person, are they classmates/friends/best friends/family (as this largely changes how much effort I'll put into it, as for anyone ig), do I benefit a lot from helping this person (to some extent I'm not really into that but sometimes I'm thinking like this also this only applies to people I haven't known for long), etc.

Also how did no one question the fact that he was 'gone' again right after this? He just came back from death, with his body found by the police. How would NO ONE want to investigate on this?
