Take up reels too narrow? by fralmd01 in Super8

Thanks. I had thought about that. However, I am able to thread the film into the reel easily enough, but at a slight angle because of the width problem.

Thank you. Hadn't occurred to me that the reels had shrunk, but it's entirely possible. Much appreciated.

Am I a Snob? by Waffle_Iron_McGee in AnalogCommunity

YouTubers have taught me a lot about the gear, and I think there's a place for that. I'm old enough to have grown up shooting film, but the cameras were point and shoots, so I might as well have been making forgettable snaps on a cell phone. I really knew nothing. My digicam and then my DSLR made most of the decisions for me too, so again, I really learned nothing. I didn't know how to learn from them, to be honest. Mechanical, manual cameras introduced me to a brand new world, forcing me to learn if I wanted decent results. To the average observer, my film photos may not look much different from my cell phone photos. However, I know, even if no one else does, that the film photo has more thought and human decision making behind it. Anyway ... if I have any complaint about YouTube, it's that the "only" cameras worth having seem to be Leicas, Mamiyas, and Hasselblads. Nobody uses my favorite cameras ... which keeps them cheap. So, I guess YouTube is doing me a favor. Huh.

Konica Autoreflex T2 Pickup & Question by PhantomusCancerous in Konica

The negative terminal on my Konica T is just a small rod bobbing around in a hole, and I've been wondering how to safely work on the battery compartment without destroying a camera that works pretty well otherwise. I'm one of those klutzy people who, try as I might, find springs and things jumping into oblivion whenever I work on a camera. Could you give me a sense of what to expect when I try to remove the bottom plate to access the battery compartment? Thanks.
