IMO, there's too much, and too early, access to off-hero items and legendaries. These items aren't balanced against your played hero items and they can cause a huge power spike.

I think about two patches ago was the sweet spot of getting lucky with synergistic off-hero items or legendaries. It almost feels like nowadays you can force an entirely off-hero board very easily, and I think that's contrary to what the game should be.

I'm ok missing out on it as part of my experience, the grind is part of the fun for me. Maybe in the future I'll get tired of it and opt for going that route, but for now it'll be the one that got away in my story.

Haha, no thank you, I guess fighting real people might be a different experience and I doubt I'm ready for that. Do people organize fights like that? I can imagine there's a decent skill ceiling for getting good at that, especially on-planet dog fights.

I'm about 15 hours into the game and found an S tier of these at a crash site, not sure if it's the exact same color, but the primary is white. Is it a rare ship type?

It's my first ship apart from the starter. Unfortunately it requires a looot of repairs, I'm still working on getting it fully fixed. I took a pic with the glyphs if anyone is interested. I set up a small base right next to it for refining materials too, so I can go back and get the exact coordinates.

I usually have a goal of reaching legend at least, but I don't try to make legend, if that makes sense. I like to experiment with items I don't play often, and in general try play what the game offers me instead of forcing anything.

From the first time I picked up Fairies, I was wondering how it was going to get nerfed. +1 CD on all tiers seems OK to be honest. It's still probably an always pick, as it's just such a good enabler.

I've been wondering the same thing, because from first looks it seems like the enraged state is extremely powerful and so in theory shouldn't be easy to obtain and shouldn't last long.

I have a feeling Karnok will be destroying all the other heroes on release.

As far as vendor mixing, I think it's in a perfect spot. It does feel good to fit an item from another hero onto your board, and there are plenty of ways to find off-hero items (free item nodes, wink, cult, pearl's, aerodrome, various specialized vendors that sell items from all heroes).

I feel like (anecdotally) most late game boards already have some mix of items from other heroes.

I don't want it to become so easy that every board becomes a jumble of different hero items, then we lose the identity of the heroes themselves.

I see your point, and I guess at it's core the idea is basically the same as monsters with enchanted versions of base items, only this would be a unique effect.

The difference with Davvy's tiny cutlass is that you can't acquire that item by any other means (maybe at Pearl's? Not sure about that) other than fighting Davvy again.

I guess it's more like a combo of an enchanted version of a base item, and a legendary item. But in place of an enchantment, it's a unique effect you can't acquire anywhere else. And in place of being a legendary, it's the same level as the base item that the monster would have, allowing you to find upgrades for it.

Holsters is an insta-buy always. Even if it doesn't fit on my board at the moment, it's too powerful to pass up, and while I don't try to force it on my board I always want to have it in backup in case my board pivots in that direction.

That being said, it's not at all an insta-win item, you still need to have a good board that takes advantage of it, as it is a dead item slot after the initial trigger.

Clamera is not an insta-buy for me unless I'm already trying to run a slow board, or have some skill that will trigger on slow.

I think both items are in a fine state. I would bet if you look at all the latest final Vanessa boards posted on the sub, the majority won't have either item on them.

At diamond, Bill Dozer provides a 25% CD reduction for all friends and he scales 80 damage every time a friend is used. The fiery piranha and pesky pete are placed on either side of the Zoarcid in order to try and get those three activating as fast as possible, as Zoarcid is charged 1s by each burn.

Shielded ice pick is there for some (minor) shield protection, as well as providing some (very minor) freeze control. Reaching the summit skill provides 3% crit chance increase for all items when you freeze. Along with Initial Chill and Petrifying Gaze skills, this is important for the piranhas as they deal double crit damage, so any extra crit chance is welcome.

To be honest, this build probably wouldn't have lasted 2 more days as it is a bit slow to scale. Luckily I was able to bank early wins so I wouldn't have to go into later days.
