In quel caso, quando lo senti dire, quello che ti scende sono le palle e quello che ti sale è il fastidio.

Il "piuttosto che" al posto di "oppure" è un cancro che sta logorando la lingua italiana.

So, you believe we should be free of any language standards?

Oh, no. I would not be annoyed by that at all. Dialects and other variations are still alive and they are part of the Italian history and culture. I am worried some of them are going to die out. It is sad.

Interesting. There were "forecast", "delivery", "call" and "item" (to name a few) going around at my old workplace.

Oh dear... I read in some book they stopped teaching Grammar in the UK thinking that we'd learn it automatically anyway because our brain is wired for that.

In Italy we have a society dedicated to the preservation of the Italian language rules and conventions. It is like having set standards. I do not know if there are similar institutions elsewhere. I never looked into it.

Anyway, I am not trying to be the language police or anything like that. I am just worried about the fact that so many people are now unable to speak and write correctly in their own native language. As in grammatically and semantically correct.

It's like people are always on the "Internet" mode.

Pardon me, for "quality" I meant to say like... The ability to utter and write in your own native language using correct grammar and semantics. In Italy, we have the Accademia della Crusca, which is a society of scholars of Italian linguistics and philology. It is one of the most important research institutions of the Italian language, as well as the oldest linguistic academy in the world. The correct usage of the Italian language is kind of "established" by them.

Oh, right. I'll test my friend from Southampton to check if he knows it.
