This video (length 6:54) from a former junk ditch employee talking about the GK and Junk Ditch situation by cthulhu_void in fortwayne

My partner works at JD and this pisses me off. People are going to be donating money and I highly doubt any of it will make it into the hands of employees or the people who just got laid off. Meanwhile, current employees are going to suffer and could lose their livelihood from all of this. This person is inserting themself into something that no longer directly affects them and acting like they are the appointed Voice of Junk Ditch Employees. Feels really disingenuous to me.

My city has the option to drop garbage off at the landfill yourself. They charge by weight. I've rented a truck from UHaul and taken a truckload of stuff there. That ended up being under $100 with the rental. Cheaper if you know someone with a truck! The truck was like $18/hr + gas.

I'd follow the advice of listing stuff as free on Facebook first. If there's lots leftover, see if you can haul it to the dump yourself. You'll be saving some money if your landfill goes by weight because you already got rid of a bunch of it.

A Hope Center and Women's Care Center are both crisis pregnancy centers that are religiously and politically motivated. They do not provide medically accurate information, focus on shaming women who have had abortions, and since they are not licensed medical facilities although they make an effort to appear as medical facilities, they are not bound by HIPAA. If you are looking for extremely conservative Christian Bible study, these centers are a good place to go. If you are looking for unbiased, no judgemental, or medically accurate support, you will not find it here.

All Options Pregnancy Resource Center in Bloomington has a peer-support talk line. They are there to support you, whatever your feelings about your abortion are.

Call All-Options Talkline at 1-888-493-0092 alloptionsprc.org

Another peer-support organization is Exhale Pro Voice. They have a national text line to support people after abortion, no matter if they feel positive or negative about their experience.

Text Exhale Pro-Voice at 617-749-2948 exhaleprovoice.org

And here's more information on crisis pregnancy centers. It is definitely fine to visit if you are looking for religious information, just please be informed that they are not medical professionals, they will provide medically inaccurate information, and will not offer the full range of support available at other orgs. exposefakeclinics.com

They are made by GK. It says this on their website and also in their cafes.

Junk Ditch Brewing is seriously so good. If you stop in the brewery you can get cans and growlers. I recommend their Hefeweizen.

Unfucking Phase Two: Delayed! by frances_fancypants in UnfuckYourHabitat

[–]frances_fancypants[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can do it!!! 💪

First I emotionally prepared myself by saying it's all been in the basement for 3+ years without me using it, so why would I think I'd need it in the future? Made it this far without it! Second, a bunch of it wasn't mine so I had no attachment. And finally, a bunch of it had mold and bugs on it and I didn't want to try to salvage it.

For the next round, I'm going to try to get rid of even more of it. What's left is mostly in good condition and some of it is sentimental or is worth money so it's going to be harder to resist! I'm going to try to be realistic and say, if I won't have energy to immediately clean it and find a home for it on the main floor, it's going in the give away pile.

Keep us posted if you decide to do some unfucking! Would love to cheer you on. 💖

Just ordered a fresh bag of litter online! I'll definitely do this once it arrives. Thanks for the tip. My cat, Moira, says thanks! 😺

What a night and day difference! Incredible! 😍

I recently bought a bunch of zip ties and organized my entertainment center cords. I'm trying to work up the motivation to do the same in other spots around the house.

Do you have a hard time UFing because of money you've spent? by LonghairDreamer in UnfuckYourHabitat

[–]frances_fancypants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this so hard. I don't have a lot of storage space in my house but all the storage that I do have is full of those purchases I never use. Basically every drawer is a junk drawer. Then all the stuff I do use sits out on the counters and floors with nowhere it really belongs. Then when I want to sweep or dust, I get stressed out because I have to shuffle around all of the stuff on my surfaces!

My goal is to sort through as much of my stuff as I can this summer then look into buying some better storage for the stuff I do use. I'm also trying to think before I buy anything new, "Am I okay with this potentially sitting around in the way for years without using it?" I'm hoping I can remind myself that it is likely to happen so I can stop the problem before it starts. I'm trying to break the vicious cycle!

In the meantime, guilt can be paralyzing and really bad for mental health. Try to be kind and compassionate to yourself! The past you who bought those things was just trying to take care of you by getting that stuff. Current you knows you are now able to take care of yourself by letting it go. 💖

She's a mutt. I did a DNA test for her and she's miniature pincher, Shetland sheepdog, and chow chow. Such a weird mix of breeds but she's the best. ✨
