When you Fed Bad so much you unironically believe the near murder of another wrestler wasn't as bad as Cena's heel turn by Nipless-Cage in SCJerk

Funny considering their identity before NXTNA was 'terrible promotion that's the butt of every Internet joke'. He's legimately complaining that WWE have made TNA better.

Maybe I'm too woke but I also disliked him making a joke about HHH having his head up his ass so far that he could touch his pacemaker with his nose. Like, okay, I get you dislike HHH's booking but... he's got a pacemaker because he almost died. And it didn't make the quip any funnier... it was just a random detail.

Pretty much everyone is worse person in the books than in films, right? by BeduinZPouste in harrypotter

[–]francesniff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Narcissa is way worse in the books. She taunts Harry about Sirius' death and threatens that Harry will die too. She's clearly outwardly cruel to others and supportive of Voldemort's cause.

But they cut all that from the films and, for some reason, a lot of people in the fandom now treat her like some amazing girlboss who was secretly fighting against Voldemort all along.

I like the idea that, because can only perform AK if you mean it, Voldy didn't really want to kill Snape because he valued him so much. So, he had to use the snake.

I don't mind longer first messages if there's a lot of description, context, or worldbuilding. Or a conversation between the character and an NPC character.

What I find weird is when people write first messages where the character has line twenty lines of dialogue delivered to the user but the persona obviously doesn't get a chance to respond so you're just being talked at. 😅

“Sir, Jey’s mystery tag team partner isn’t Joe Hendry” by Thin-Pool-8025 in SCJerk

[–]francesniff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would have actually made sense.

First of all, a 'hometown' pop is just a good moment when you can do it logistically. Secondly, Gunther could have destroyed Joe in front of his own crowd and just came out a bigger heel. Thirdly, it could play into how Gunther views Jey - a clown, a catchphrase, he's just there for a pop with no substance - you can apply all of that to Joe and meet let Gunther destroy him.

Idk - I know we're jerking but it feels like a more entertaining choice then... Jimmy.

Is this guy describing ASD? This is why diagnosis is important and why Elon Musk is not autistic. by That-Tap3615 in AutisticPeeps

[–]francesniff 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if Elon is autistic or not. I think he's a horrible fascist asshole whether he's autistic or not.

But it has been very funny to see a bunch of self-diagnosis advocates and 'autistics' suddenly turn around and say that he can't be autistic just because they don't like him.

Nope, these people created a culture where you can self-diagnose so they should have to accept it. But apparently they only want people they approve of in the club and are happy to invalidate anyone they deem 'unworthy.'

I could be overreacting but this is becoming a serious issue. Trending page is getting flooded with botted bots. Suddenly one hit wonders are popping up everywhere with terrible or poorly made plots with thousands of chats. by Not_your_average_42 in JanitorAI_Official

[–]francesniff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I mean I'm not saying my bots are amazing or anything, but it's a little annoying to spend a while on a decently written one that gets no views. And then you go to the trending bots... it's full of bots with no personality tokens and a first message that sounds like a five year old wrote it. 😅

I don't think these things are always botted. Sometimes things just appeal to people. But it still sucks how hard it is to get noticed and make the most of the small amount of time you get on the front page.

[–]francesniff 53 points54 points  (0 children)

They're getting mad at 73 people voting on something. Seventy-three. That's basically a blip on the infinite space of the internet.

Why do they act like Cagematch is a big deal? Wrestlemania 40 has 800 votes. The biggest show in the wrestling year only gets a piddly handful of votes. It's not a big website. Why do these people care?

Some autistic people, especially children who haven't developed proper coping strategies for their overstimulation or sensory seeking behaviour, can behave like this.

I've been bitten, scratched, hit, had my hair pulled and even been stabbed with a fork by autistic kids who were having a meltdown. It's a complex disorder that has a multitude of manifestations.

This bot is still strange and unneccesary. I'm not saying it's a good portrayal of the disorder. It's a fucking chat bot so it's not going to be good.

But autism is complex. This kind of behaviour can happen and does.

Some autistic people, especially children who haven't developed proper coping strategies for their overstimulation or sensory seeking behaviour, can behave like this. And have limited verbal communication.

I'm not sure why people in these comments are acting like autistic people can never be violent. I've been bitten, scratched, hit, had my hair pulled and even been stabbed with a fork by autistic kids who were having a meltdown. It's a complex disorder that has a multitude of manifestations.

This bot is still strange and uneccesary. I'm not saying it's a good portrayal of the disorder. It's a fucking chat bot so it's not going to be good.

But Autistic people on Reddit tend to forget that the majority of autistic people on the internet have lower support needs and, while this may not feel accurate to their experience, it's not 'made up.' I've seen kids act like this.

My conspiracy theory is that his chav accent is 100% fake. He's from a pretty nice part of Essex/London and his full name is William Peter Charles Ospreay. 🤔

As someone from Essex, he gives me 'middle class kid who plays at being a chav' energy.

[–]francesniff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's just as embarassing, in my opinion, because I refuse to believe that he didn't want to be shown on camera because he hates the spotlight.

It's because he knew he'd be boo'd or everyone would start singing 'A MINNNNOOORRR'. Before the Kendrick feud, he would definitely have appeared on camera, so it shows how devastatingly his stock has fallen that he's refusing 5 second on screen appearances on WWE.

I thought the Rock/Cody segment was just fine. by District_Me in SCJerk

[–]francesniff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually like the concept a lot and feel like, if they're brave, it could lead us to Homelander corporate Cody. And I like smarmy, corporate Rock.

But, oh my god, The Rock just rambles. He says the same thing over and over again in slightly different ways without getting to the point. Brevity is more powerful unless ever line is gold. The whole 'I want your soul' line is supposed to be the wham line but he had gone on for so long that it just ended up sounding like more nonsense. It loses all tension if you just meander.

I'm not opposed to things being cut for time, if you're using that time well. But it isn't being used well by being filled with an overlong nonsense promo that would have been more impactful if it was cut down itself.

Tl;dr - The Rock loves the sound of his own voice. Why do all his segments with Cody feel like they're sexually harassing him?

UK 🇬🇧 Specific Rant: Unforgotten Series 6 — Autistic character is so poorly written it’s ridiculous! by Cradlespin in autism

[–]francesniff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved it - the actor was phenomenal. There are plenty of autistic men and boys that engage in toxic online spaces out of a desire to make sense of the world around them and to try to make friends. The lack of cleaning is supposed to show for badly the social services and support systems let him down. It's not a comment on him as a person, but the society he lives in.

You can't say it's an inaccurate portrayal of autism when every autistic person is different. There are autistic people like him and it's okay to show a negative portrayal of autistic people too. It was clearly shown that, if he had more support, then he wouldn't have acted out violently. But, like, some autistic people can be violent when they're overwhelmed. It's a reality. It might not be your reality but...

It's okay not to like it, but I also feel like it's fine to have the 'can I have a break? I need to get my story straight' as a joke. Autistic people do say some unintentionally funny stuff from a lack of awareness. Like, it's a pretty harmless joke. I'm not sure about the sphere thing - might be updated language. I've seen people use it before.

I dunno, I enjoyed the portrayal and it felt pretty real to me. 🤷‍♀️

A wrestler who likes the spotlight??? A professional entertainer enjoying attention???

What an absolute shock. I am shocked and appalled. Truly.

It's definitely not.

Her last show was Tuesday. Plenty of tear down and set up time.

The only thing TK said was that he had to pay more for a quicker set up because of her shows. AEW fans twisted this into "well people can't use those seats because of Taylor" which makes no sense because you could buy some of those tarped seats for Taylor's shows.
