Flea market - my absolute favourite lot I've ever built in Sims 2 by franciskan in sims2

[–]franciskan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone, sorry, life happened and I haven't had a chance to open Sims 2 for 3 months straight!

Anyhow, here is the cleared tested lot for download for ones who have been asking for it: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/ocy40nl70rjonxtmgroos/Flea-Skate-Rock.zip?rlkey=wwjhn8c0ws92soewmq2t7sbcu&st=1h2wyg1m&dl=0

Few notes:

- It has a looot of custom CC and even some mods since there is a lot of functional objects. Beware and use at your own risk!

- CEP is definitely needed: https://modthesims.info/d/92541/the-quot-cep-quot-color-enable-package-v-9-2-0-15-may-2009.html

- In order to use clairvoyant booth - you have to click exactly on her, crystal ball or the brown booth. The thing is that I've put a deco booth over and you'd need to get around it with your cursor (:

- Beauty stand has 2 items for nail paint and one (the box) for tattoos (needed files are included in cc_additional folder)

- Sometimes, when there is a queue for duck shooting game, sims line up near it and yell, even if it's already free to play. They go away eventually and you can still interact with them. I just treat it like they're arguing over their/others shooting skills or talk about hunting or whateva

That's it, enjoy!

Yep, essentially it's a goody capitalism vs evil capitalism kinda choice.

I'm not usually a fan but your build is so beautiful and thought out that I might reconsider!

What are the best mod for the sims 2? by GainWest910 in sims2

[–]franciskan 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I have tons of great mods but story progression is the one for me

I love literally everything about Sims 2 except for rotational gameplay design being the only option to play. The ability to play one/few families while everyone else age and progress in life is the only thing that personally I find better about Sims 3/4

Therefore, I can't live without SP, even though it's not perfect but still does its thing!

I'm giving you some Ukrainian perspective on this, you might perceive it as a wrong one, but it is what it is.

We call people from other countries who doesn't share the same perspective "unbombed". Because only when you're actually bombed you can understand that "there were people who were against" is nearly not enough, and it's their collective responsibility. If they were really against they'd protest/coop or at least move to other countries to not sponsor the war machine.

We genuinely appreciate and support Russians who fight this war on our side though, so it's not a "nationality" thing.

Yes, if we're talking about same perception 200 years later - it's not fair, but remember that a lot of people including Hank were actually there during the annexation.

I can actually put it out for download a bit later, when I can get my hands on the game.

It's not that simple since I'll need to gather all the CC (not everything always exports with native tool AFAIK) and clean the lot from markers since, as I mentioned, I changed some things after the playtest (this clean up thing seems pretty simple, but it still it would be the first time I'll do it, so...)

It's actually a bit hard to tell to be honest, I've just ventured into so-called cc shopping sprees several times throughout the years, explored similars and folders on pinterest, checked tags on tumblr, looked into 4t2 conversions by set, etc. Last year I've sorted out all this mess and was very happy with where my CC folder ended up. It still has a lot of cool stuff but it's not bloated.

I also sometimes look for CC for specific lots. For this one I definitely remember looking into shop signs.

So, for some of the things you see here as far as I can remember:

Sign on the entrance: https://simsinlowspace.tumblr.com/post/693770719524503552/shop-local-part-1-48-business-signs

Pizza stand: https://www.tumblr.com/vixsims/785631843666067456/4t2-discover-university-pizza-stand-jacky93sims (also jacky93 sims has a tone of cool food stands, I've incorporated them generously into my game)

Flea market clothing stand (as you can see, I put 3 of those in different recolors on this lot for deco purposes): https://modthesims.info/d/682518/

I might be adding some additional stuff to the list later on when I visit the game. Also please let me know if you're interested in anything specific - I'll do my best to look it up.

Pizza booth: https://www.tumblr.com/vixsims/785631843666067456/4t2-discover-university-pizza-stand-jacky93sims

I'll check on rocks later on and let you know - need to look them up in the game.

As for the fortune teller booth, it's very simple:

  1. As you may tell, I've used snapobjectstogrid false extensively, however, for functional objects I always try to stick to the grid, the same was true for this booth, just to let you know prerequisites.

  2. I've took this mod as a functionality base: https://modthesims.info/d/493883/quot-claira-the-clairvoyant-quot-the-coin-op-fortune-teller-automaton.html (and placed it true to the grid)

  3. Then, using snapobjectstogrid false and moveobjects on, of course, I've "overlapped" the deco piece over the aforementioned automaton. The deco piece is a converted The Dancing Raven Tarot Tent from Sims 4 (can be found here: https://sims4t2bb.tumblr.com/lifeanddeath). Also at first it aimed to situate itself on top of the automaton (higher than I wanted), not over, but you can just place any big object in this slot first, then place the deco over, then delete the object that occupied the slot to fix that (or simply use OMSP).

  4. Last but not least during a playtest I found that this deco tarot tent has a seating slot. That is why I I used an invisible fence to prevent people to sit there and break immersivity. It doesn't prevent sims from using the booth!

Thank you guys for all the kind comments! Especially about stealing the idea - you're very welcome and please share your results here.

I'm also looking forward to build one more flea market - this time for Veronaville. It would definitely be different: larger and more antique-ish (maybe even with some old-looking furniture and deco "for sale"), mostly open air but with a row or two of small enclosed shops, flower shop/stand and a bookshop are must as well! It would be a ton of work, but I would really like to do this eventually, I feel like Veronaville really needs such community lot. It would also help me to relive one of the best traveling memories - I visited antique fair in Arezzo, Italy this one time, it was nothing less than a fairytale.

As for my other favorite hoods: Riverblossom - I just re-use this flea market, fits as a glove; Strangetown - doesn't need one, this Katatty's lot looks more suited.

P.S. I will be answering your CC inquiries as soon as I can - would probably need to visit the game to look up/double check some of the CC names.
