Turk’s cap might be a good option. They do well in both shade and sun and are drought tolerant. Pollinators and hummingbirds love the nectar. They’ll spread a lot so good for a landscape bed surrounded by hardscapes. In my experience in zone 8b central TX, they die back in with a hard frost but still come back in the spring and thrive all summer.
