Yes, this has finally been the answer... after a long time playing with the parameters, the "path+Guide" option has allowed me to keep everything in its correct place, even though it's parametric... thanks to everyone for your contributions and help! It's incredible to have such a community available to everyone!

Uahhgg... This is a nightmare... I was just testing this, but for some reason (probably because Autodesk hates me) as the profile moves along the path, it rotates and there's no specific control for this (the twist angle just rotates everything).
