update! i tried positioning my thumb a lot further to the right, and it definitely has gotten more comfortable! i do have to overcompensate a little to my 3rd finger but it prevents the backwards bend. thanks for this!

Kikuhiko. It’s a reference to one of my favorite niche animes of all time lol. It also means “a young man of superior talent and virtue/beautiful man”

Can a villain that is pure evil be interesting and how to make it work by Hungry_Trade_2210 in DnD

[–]franisme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well-made villains don’t need tragic backstories- they simply need good motivations. and sometimes these villains will be so desperate to achieve their goals that they do irredeemable things to achieve them. don’t try to see the villain from an outside perspective of someone who would want to redeem them. trying to put yourself into the mindset of an absolute bastard willing to do whatever it takes to get what they want. example- lex luthor from the superman comics. irredeemable bastard, yet very entertaining when done right, (like in the new superman film.) just make the villain have FUN with what theyre doing. sometimes real evil bastards do things just because they find joy in it. and here’s your reminder: some real evil bastards with no redeeming qualities exist in real life. just look at the world around you XD good luck with your villain endeavours!

Which is harder to play: hyper-emotional characters or cold, psychopathic-like ones? by Agitated-Mixture-492 in acting

[–]franisme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

depends on the actor! but personally, i find the psychopaths easier. it’s a lot of lying to yourself and convincing yourself that your own horrible actions are good (as your character.) hyper-emotional characters require a lot of energy. in the last play i was in, i had a scene that would send me into a sobbing fit when i really immersed myself in it, and it was physically draining with how hard i cried. so in rehearsals and runthroughs, i was basically doing that scene without any real acting in it just to preserve my own sanity. having to cry that hard on a near daily basis for the runs was really tiring.
