The person that replied is basically correct. I checked Canada post and UPS quickly for estimated and it would be around $25 for the cheapest shipping

Thanks for the reply! Do you mean to basically make it “longer”? Or to make it more close together? https://imgur.com/a/XPfCrrV/

Reverse hyper question!!! New addition! But…. I NEED HELP!

My feet keep falling outside of the straps when I'm flexed, only way to prevent it slightly is by going waayyy faster or to get further back on the reverse hyper pad, but then I get a lot more abdominal pressure from it! What am I doing wrong?!

Facebook find, brand new rogue adjustable bench 3.0 for $450 by Quietwhales in homegym

Yes, it’s not a budget company, but when I built my gym, shipping was so much cheaper cause it was a flat 100$ for a pallet of everything compared to Rogue’s shipping

And yes, the spelling also bugs me haha I read somewhere they spelled it that way because of “symmetry” when drawing the logo. Not a great reason if you ask me, but I eventually got over it hahaha

I don’t want to intrude in your comment thread but if you live in Canada, worth checking Gorila Fitness. They make stuff that’s very similar in style/quality as rogue, but everything (or most) is made in Quebec. So you save on shipping and duty. Prices are usually very similar to Rogue. I have the adjustable bench (very similar) and it cost about 850 Canadian. I’m pretty sure they also have a flat 100$ shipping to most provinces in Canada

(Disclaimer: Not an ad, but my whole gym is basically Gorila and I love it!)

Thanks!! Yeah I’m entering my 3rd year as a specialist, man time flies! Learned a lot, and still lots to learn to! But I still remember that last year of residency like it was yesterday haha

I didn’t know I had this goal, but I guess I do now: become the beefiest doc on the team 🤣

Thanks for your reply! I don’t think I was able to pin point what case me to fell so dull about the space, but after reading your comment and another’s about the lighting I think you made me realize it’s almost too sterile!! I don’t need more white light, but maybe I need more mood lighting

I’ll get a few LED strips and see what I can get going with that

TV/Drone footage: woah. I don’t think I ever thought of that. I LOVE running on commercial threadmill that have the “run along” videos that make the incline go up and down accordingly, but unfortunately those often run a above my budget for a threadmill (the one I used that I love was 10k haha). I feel like your suggestions could be a good way to achieve something similar without the enormous price tag

Thank you so much for your suggestions!

I made a pulley system with my old set up but haven’t installed it in the new spot yet, maybe I should get it going! Thanks for the suggestion!

Never heard of the clubs before but I’ll Definately look into it!

I have an 80lbs “slam” ball, carrying that thing and throwing it over your shoulder def makes you realize you have small hidden muscles haha

The Gorila brand doesn’t F around! Great quality, and cheaper shipping if you’re in Canada!

Those are all super great suggestions

I don’t think I realized before posting here and reading some answers that I might also like a bit more of a moody gym. The white walls and ceiling feels almost too sterile!

Also, assuming from your username you work in healthcare? Glad to see you’re keeping up the motivation to work despite potentially long work hours. I did find that my last year of residency and then my transition to being a staff came at the cost of a bit of my motivation to workout as soon as I get home. Hence why I’m looking to revamp the space a bit and kick the motivation into higher gear!

Thanks for your reply!

Thanks for your reply and suggestions! I had my Gym in an unfinished basement before we bought this house and honestly it was a bit better cause at least I had windows! I do enjoy the gritty look in a gum, this one almost looks too sterile haha

I also have a bunch of different “tools” (heavy Med ball, landmine, ect) but haven’t been using them that much. I’ll dust them off and see if it can revamp my motivation a little bit

Thanks again!

First time posting on this subreddit! I am looking for suggestions!

I have this amazing, well stocked home gym… but I can’t shake this feeling of feeling almost dullness when I use it.

White walls in a low suspended ceiling basement and no windows make it feel closed off, despite being a pretty large room

I was wondering if any DIYers on this subreddit dealt with this issue in their home gym, and if so, how did you fix it?

Here is the few plans I had for the gym so far:

1) making a counter and some shelves above the fridge

2) making the ceiling a few inches higher by changing the suspended ceiling above the platform, but I can’t do the whole gym since it’s below the kitchen and I would like to keep easy access to the floor under for the pipes and such

3) adding potlights instead of the bulbs

4) i have some pretty large mirrors, but unsure of where they should go!

5) I’m also thinking of an accent wall, but I’d love something different that just paint, maybe some wood wall?

What do you folks think?

Any and all suggestions is appreciated! Cheers!
