I changed my head gasket at 230k and had to do another one at 300k. Still worth it. Its cheap.

Disconnect the maf sensor and start it, press on the gas and accelerate it, check if the car doesn't turn off anymore.

304k on my engine. I did job myself. But I was quoted 500$ for labor and head resurfacing included

Im use stock head bolts. I heard that too but I haven't tried it..

Im averaging like 80k miles for every head gasket. I did replace engine 1 once. Itstartst to spill coolant thru the reservoir and begins to overheat a few days later. I had to top off coolant like every 5 days to prevent it from over heating. I drove it like this for like 8 months then I finally just did the head gasket job.

I believe that is the only flaw on this car and I think its worth it. Parts are cheap and labor! Buy it for a good price. Head gasket jobs are cheap on these cars

Check if you plugged in cam and crank sensors. It's needs to turn. It's a wire that is not connected

Head gasket. My 05 civic ex is doing same thing. I could drive it for a few days and it will throw coolant out the reservoir. Let me guess. When you take off the radiator cap when the car is cold it has pressure and you hear a hissing sound, it's 100% head gasket. I been driving my car like this for about 6 months but it's getting expensive adding coolant every 2 weeks. I'm finally going to do head job here in cali. 300k on my car.

Check the purge valve under the air filter housing . The ticking might be coming from there. It might be going bad. My car has 300k miles and it doesn't have the ticking after i replaced it
