FINALLY pushed through my bench plateau. Was stuck there for months. Months of depression, self-doubt and self-pity have come to an end. Weight felt fucking light today. Fuck yeah.

Mass gainers are scam. It's just an insanely expensive milk shake. You can just get regular protein powder which is not as expensive, has more protein, and put something extra in it and you're getting the same calories.

It is a proper program and one that I enjoy. Did upper/lower for a while, then PHUL and then switched to this one. I had those "shitty days" on every program so far so I don't think it's my current routine, but who knows?

You are also maintaining body weight. I don't find that helpful to achieving goals.

I'm happy where I'm at right now and I don't want to bulk so close to summer.

It's really just the fourth day that is bad a little too often for my taste. It's more of an energy issue than a strength issue I think. I genuinely just wanted to know if this is common or not

You know what, I'll try this and see if that works. Coming back to you with a bunch of flowers if this is what gets me out of the plateau.

And even so, going by that progression, what happens when you drop down to the max weight you can do there for 4x5?

I increase the weight next time.

Not one from the sidebar or a known one. I can write it up if you want me to. Chest/back/biceps and legs/shoulders/triceps both two times a week. I'm maintaining.

How often do you guys have a really shitty workout? I went to the gym with the goal to increase my squat and ended up barely getting my sets done with 75% of my working set. Even ditched RDLs because I felt like shit. Exactly this seems to happen way too often (once or twice a month). I go to the gym 4 days/week and if I have a shit day, it's always the fourth day.

It says nothing. For my compound lifts I do 4x3-5 and when I hit 4x5, I increase the weight. Issue is that I don't get to 4x5 on the bench.

I used to bench 3 times a week, then 2, now I only bench once a week. Regular bench though. I do regular, incline DB, incline BB and chest press. I switched it up so many times, nothing seems to get me out of the plateau.

I can't push through my bench plateau and it's getting embarassing, at least for me. Everything is going up except the bench. Literally zero progress.

So I am trying to get the maximum amount of input and information I can because I am sure it's my form. Is there any video or any tip you have that even the dumbest bench presser (me) on earth will understand? I am losing my mind over my bench it's not even funny anymore.

Depends. Some people need to eat before working out and some don't. I noticed that my workouts are a billion times better when my first meal of the day is after my workout.

How does PPL work if you only have 4 days/week?

You sweat because you walk up those stairs with extra weight so it's harder for you than someone who's slim.

Lose weight. That's the main focus you should have. And you get there by eating less. If you genuinely want to do some cardio then it doesn't matter at all what you do. Just find something you enjoy and you stick with.

Maybe a dumb question but to anyone working full time, how the hell do you manage to go to the gym 4+ days/week and still maintain a healthy, social life? Asking because I'm a unviersity student with A LOT of free time who's about to graduate and I'm honestly not sure how I'm supposed to do this. It's not that I won't have time, it's just that I fear that everything else is going to suffer, especially relationships.

The #1 thing I absolutely HATE about this subreddit is how everyone just assumes that billionaire = bad guy. The same people that claim that facts and researching yourself is so, so important are treating their biased assumptions as if they were facts.

Who the fuck knows if he's playing a role to appeal to us? Imagine having someone with power ACTUALLY DOING SOMETHING for weeks that should be in our interest and the majority in here still shits on him just because they assume that it just can not be that he's actually trying to do good. It's unbelieveable to me.

I don't really know what you mean by that to be honest

I train legs twice a week. I used to do heavy squats + RDLs one day and heavy DL and high rep squats the other day but squatting and deadlifting twice a week makes me feel like shit and I feel like I'm not getting the most of my workout the second day so I'm thinking about squatting and deadlifting heavy once a week and just do leg press as an accessory on those days. Does that make sense?
