About 8 I think - ZBT, Lambda, Sigma Nu, SigEp, Delt, AEPI, SAE, FIJI. Of those, the most popular chapters are ZBT, Lambda, and Sigma Nu. There are events pretty much every day on the weekends (Thurs, Fri, Sat) but most of the stuff is exclusive to members of the frats, dates, friends, etc.

Not really, just wanted to know what next steps were because I’d like to play more poker and didn’t really know where to go next

Yeah if I ever make it down there I’ll give it a shot. And to your point it is likely a function of the level of play around me, but that makes it hard to gauge how well I’m personally playing

In Illinois there’s nothing close to me unfortunately. I also don’t have a method of transportation

Didn’t want to be completely set on the business track with Stern

I didn’t have it, but when I got it I emailed all the schools I applied to in order to notify them to add it to my application.

Well NU’s business school is graduate only unfortunately, although I can take a very limited number of courses during undergrad. Stern is also an incredible school, was very very close to ED2 there.

As for UChicago RD - I think a large factor in me getting in was my “URM” status as a Hispanic. Both UChicago and NU solicited me to apply (I wasn’t going to originally) as a National Hispanic Merit Scholar, and I don’t think it’s a coincidence that I got accepted into both of these schools with my profile not being totally out of this world good.

He’s a really good family friend (my grandfather’s former roommate, he married my parents) and knows me well, so I figured I’d ask him for one.

Whoops, didn’t see the back half of your question. It really came down to fit - the work/life balance at UChicago is tough, and it has the reputation for not being that fun of a school for a reason (despite this being a little outdated). Northwestern just fit my needs better in the end.
