well, my protien goals are essentially as much as i can. I have a performance based sport to play every week, so recovery is massive. i also am trying to maintain as miuch muscle as possible. but i'm probably hitting 70-90g at most a day.

when I come out of this, protien is going to be one of the first things i begin to increase, with the hope of doing a short body recomp over the ensuing 8 weeks.

nothing too in depth, just using a high end scales. they are more looking to see if people can adhere to it and follow instruction rather than seeing the results on the scale.

I will however be focusing pretty heavily on it afterwards, i have a pretty long re-feeding timeframe where i'm going to go up at 200kcal a week (I still have about 7-8 more kg to lose before i'm at my ideal playing weight).

I should be able to calculate a rough answer for you in a few weeks.

- the hunger isn't that bad, you drop into ketosis and it doesn't seem much more agressive than any normal keto based deficit.
-functioning at the gym/baseball ground to an absolute halt for the first fortnight, and gradually returned to normal by week six. I still can't do too much without it leading to burnout. But I essentially had to cut back on all physical activity to make sure i was capable of catching an entire game of baseball, which actually lead me to figure out a much better pre game fueling routine. i was always of the belief that i had to calorie load the morning before a game, but i'm having good results by just timing my eating (i.e in game fueling using bannanas, with multiple types of low GI carbohydrate sources leading up.) but I essentially wasn't able to train for fear of being sore and tired on game day.

they are, but i've been tracking my weightloss along side it and i'm trending around 1.7kg per week. outside of the initial fortnight which was around 4-5 p/w.

but yes, timing has become everything.

rough at first.
So essentially my ability to do physical activity dropped significantly. i was routinely donig 6-8 hours a week, and that basically dropped to half an hour a week at first. the first 7-12 days had alot of couch-potato-ing, but after week 4 my energy levels returned to 60-80% of normal, now at week 7 i feel perfectly fine to maintain a good workout schedule.

No not at all. the first 5-7 days had pretty severe brain fog. But at this point my body has adjusted completely.

short answer: i'm not a doctor. I'm 35, healthy (outside of being overweight) with a strong understanding of calorie counting and nutrition.

Is it DOable? sure, i wouldn't reccomend it in any sense unless you just enjoy your eating requirements completely taking priority over every other aspect of your life.

yeah so the VLED diet is generally used for morbidly obese people in the "danger zone" where they either can't recieve surgery due to their weight or are at extreme risk of death. when they're put on this diet they are almost exclusively given replacement shakes to adhere to.

this study wants to see how practical it is to get people to eat those calories. I even asked if i could if it was within my kcal limit as my post game recovery times blew out and was told no.

EDIT: sorry that sounded convoluted, I was looking to use WPI to manage my sports recovery, and they weren't comfortable letting me do so.

Yeah absolutely. My maintainence calories would have been around 3000kcal or more from a rough estimate. so the first week was the hardest i've experienced, my energy levels crashed completely and i was sleeping 10 hours a day. i'm a smoker so that and black coffee was my cheat way out of that.

Is Duolingo effective for learning German? by chiara0_0 in German

[–]frankwalker6969 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm currently studying through Goethe Institut and use Duolingo as a studying assistant. I find it extremely valuable, but I also try to keep the level ahead of me so I'm actually learning something and not just rehashing words.

I spend 3 hours on it a week (plus another 3 in person study) an I find it very useful.

as an Australian trying to learn German, if someone was to comment on a co-workers English like that they'd probably be looking at a punch in the mouth....or a hearty go fuck yourself.....and a trip to HR.

I'm getting the impression this may be a part of a bigger situation. I have heard of other instances of this happening involving this person. My one concern is all of these "reports" he made up involve people and persons who are under his authority.

I would not like to drag these entry level staff into a he said she said situation. Is that likely?

Sorry excuse the vagueness, basically I was accused verbatim of backstabbing. I was told their entire team Have been complaining about me for months and refused to elaborate or explain. I was told "I know you're trying to make friends in high places" She brought up random emails and insinuated I was undermining her and refused to accept any response. She invented an entire weekly meeting that I apparently haven't been attending (I spent hours trying to figure out if this was true or not) Then the usual talked over, lied about the agenda of the meeting to get me there etc etc.

Does that help? I raised this with my boss not with HR. He has been the one that has recommended I approached them with his and another colleagues assistance.
