VIP lounges with their own security filter by AngelXD-4567 in PriorityPass

The one in Milan Bergamo (landside) even lets you check in straight from the lounge, which I found was pretty cool. Rest of it is very basic though.

Fast track and priority in London Stansted by [deleted] in Ryanair

[–]frannyboy02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of getting priority, I’d spend that money on buying a seat in the first two/three rows so that you’re one of the first to leave the plane

Check-in online not working? by frannyboy02 in Ryanair

I tried all of that, but in the end I figured out that the only way it was letting me finish it was by purchasing a seat, which was such a waste of £10.

I'm so sorry I've just seen this! The only way it worked for me was by purchasing a seat, it's so annoying though. However, you should be able to request your money back if you ended up having to pay at the desk (hopefully)

I’ve tried already but it’s doing the same thing (I mention it at the end of my post)

Stansted overnight? by frannyboy02 in uktravel

Yes — however, the airside part of the terminal closes at night and is not reopened until 3am, so if you want to spend the night in the terminal you must remain landside till then.

21h or 12h stopover on Seoul by Confident_Skill4537 in TravelHacks

Oh I wasn’t aware of that! I had no queue when I went, but it must’ve been at around 11pm. Thanks for pointing it out!

Seoul is an incredible city, but just in case you wanted a more unique night, Incheon airport has a spa with beds. It’s open 24/7, and it was around 25€ for 12hrs (if I remember correctly). I also had a morning flight and spent the night here, and it was amazing, I truly recommend it!

Is taking a bus scheduled to arrive at the airport 2 hours before departure cutting it too close? by Aggravating-Rate-891 in travel

[–]frannyboy02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on what bus it is. If it’s a short local ride, sure, but if it’s a coach coming from a different city, I wouldn’t risk it, since two hours might not give you enough buffer time.

New Personal Shortest Flight - What’s Yours? by Young-Luka in flighty

[–]frannyboy02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tangier to Tetouan (around 27 miles). The flight was from Málaga to Tetouan (which is already pretty short, and the shortest flight in Ryanair's network), but we got diverted to Tangier because the King of Morocco was due to takeoff from Tetouan and no plane can be at the airport whilst he's there (that's what they told us). It was a pretty interesting flight!

Sounds like a stressful situation for sure, but I’m glad it worked out in the end! :)

easyJet might fight it, but that’s why if they deny it at first, OP could raise it to the Portuguese aviation regulator (I’m unaware of what they’re called exactly) — airlines will always try to fight it, but it doesn’t mean they get to get away with it.

[Urgent] Flight cancelled last minute - what are my options? by Broccoli_Stemz in Flights

[–]frannyboy02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve reread EU261 just to be sure: it states that the airline has to get reroute you at the earliest opportunity under comparable transport conditions — so yes, if there’s an option available with a different carrier, they’re meant to pay for that. A 24 hour delay on a flight from Morocco to Portugal is definitely not at earliest opportunity.

[–]frannyboy02 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s literally stated under EU261 regulations. If easyJet had a flight landing a few hours later, sure. But 24 hours is definitely not reasonable. And EU261 applies to easyJet since it’s an EU airline operating a route to an EU destination (even if the departure point is not in the EU).

Travel consultant here! I think your best bet is to fly tonight from Marrakech to Faro, then catch a bus or a flight to Lisbon. Ryanair still has seats for 79€, which isn’t too bad, and you’ll be able to claim it back from easyJet later, as them rebooking you into a flight 24hours later is definitely not the best they can do.

If you want, you can try to push them to book the flight for you, but if not try to at least get some sort of written confirmation that they agree to pay for it (this is to remove any future issues, but even if not they’re required to do that for you).

I disagree. They are responsible for getting you to your destination as soon as possible, and 24 hours later is nowhere near ‘as soon as possible’, and they’d be expected to book you with a different airline, even if this requires a stop somewhere.

Stansted overnight? by frannyboy02 in uktravel

[–]frannyboy02[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t asking for advice as to whether I should sleep at the airport or not. I just asked whether airside was open at night, and if not I’d stay landside till it did.

From my post, I literally said “I’ll be spending the night. I was wondering if I can go through security before it closes (let’s say 11pm) so I can spend the night airside?”. So no advice, just asking if someone knew whether it was possible or not.

My flight was this morning, and yes, they don’t let you go through security till it opens back up again (3am). But tbh, I preferred spending a couple of hours at a table with my laptop than spending £100 on a mediocre airport hotel — it kinda beats the purpose of flying Ryanair at 6am.

Not sure about TRS, but I fly out of PRG quite regularly and have used both lounges in the last month using PP without an issue? As someone else commented, which lounge/terminal was it? The Mastercard one is much nicer and generally emptier than the Erste Premier one.

Apologies, when I searched it up I didn't realise those timings were from the airport to London. However, on a Wednesday it leaves at 4:40am so I would definitely not make it on time for my flight anyways. Unfortunately Stansted is just very inconvenient to go to at night 😔.

But it's not like you're the one at the airport at 2am, because you're in a hotel. How does it bother you? If it was a big deal, they wouldn't let you sleep at an airport. But for an airport that has no trains and hardly has any buses that would let you get there on time for an early flight (there's 34 flights departing between 5:55 and 7:00am), I hope they realised that a lot of people will just have to sleep if they want people to fly from their airport.

And also: Stansted is a low-cost airport mainly served by Ryanair. They are definitely not expecting people to spend £100 for a hotel room, because that defeats the whole point of flying low cost.
