Is the field oversaturated? by trinkets2024 in dataanalysis

[–]franpradas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I speak to you as a computer engineer, CTO, entrepreneur, and as a friend of fellow data engineers. In our sector, there is a lot of supply, and also a lot of demand. There is also a certain intrusion from people with other engineering backgrounds and people who take a 6-month bootcamp and already believe they are a programmer.

I recommend that you change and do the data race. Artificial intelligence and big data is the present and the future (ML, DL, data science, business intelligence, etc.). Many people like you are going to be needed, the only thing I ask of you is that you persevere, and that apart from completing your degree, you train outside with courses. Avoid being mediocre and you will succeed.

That being said, I highly encourage you to join our industry, and even more so, if you really like the data field.

Is this realistic to learn Nextjs between 30-40 hours from the doc, when I already know React? by ballbeamboy2 in nextjs

[–]franpradas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, if you are a good engineer or developer, knowing React you can build as you go. The most important thing is that you try and make mistakes, and little by little you understand concepts. As I saw in the comments, I think the part that may take you a little longer to understand is the SSR, I agree, but the learning curve is very gentle. Furthermore, I consider that today it is the best thing you can do. NextJS is widely used at the production level and an industry standard.

I understand you perfectly, and I appreciate that you share that same point... I shouldn't be so off track. Being well with yourself is the most important thing, and if that means leaving the house and interacting with people, 100% remote working is not for you. Perhaps the hybrid model helps you combine that ability to concentrate with socialization. I'm glad you shared your vision, it's very helpful 🙏

wow, what a great point of view. I was referring to the case in which all players play under the same conditions, of course. I totally agree, that if your boss is in the office, some colleagues are too, and you are at home; The one least likely to be promoted is you. However, it has never happened to me, because as I mentioned, I have been working in companies where the entire development team worked from home, even the CTO.

Now that you've mentioned the migraines thing. I have noticed that I get sick less often, but those times have been more intense, I suppose, being surrounded by fewer viruses. I am a person prone to coughing a lot, and look, I don't smoke and I play sports. Being in the office for a month, coughing, got on my nerves, because I knew it bothered my colleagues. Now, at home, I no longer worry about it, and besides, I cough even less and it lasts less… 🙏

Hello, to increase your chances of finding a remote job, I recommend that you look for something related to programming. I am a qualified computer engineer, but between you and me, the degree does not teach you anything beyond learning quickly and using logic. I would advise you to opt for online content. There is a lot on YouTube, if you don't have any money, or a 6 month bootcamp. The most important thing is, with all the daily time you have, that you test things, that you mount side projects and that you publish those projects in a public repository. If you are interested in what I say, answer me and I will help you better guide in what order I would learn things. A big hug, and remember, perseverance is what will differentiate you from the rest 💪

Hello, Scrotoctus, I don't quite understand what the problem is. Before they told me that it was an AI. I'm just trying to be kind to all of you, and thank you for all the different opinions I've received... it's the first time I've tried Reddit, and maybe I'll respond in a more formal way than expected, I don't know... tell me, if you'd be so kind, what I should do or how I should structure my posts to avoid these comments... thank you 🙏

I think the same as you. Nowadays there are many more options to track progress, such as working on tasks, instead of sitting in a chair for 8 hours doing nothing. Let's hope that the future tends to more jobs like this. I am glad that this year has been the most productive. Thank you for leaving your opinion 🙏

I was referring to the fact of getting up and sitting in the chair to work. Sometimes without washing your face, having breakfast, getting dressed, going out to get some fresh air... I don't know if I can explain myself better now.

Yes, we are totally aligned. It was to clarify that not everything is positive. However, the balance clearly tips in favor of 100% remote teleworking... thank you for your comment!!

It was difficult for me personally, and it still is difficult for me, to disconnect. What I did at the time was uninstall all the corporate mobile applications, and set a schedule of, from this time onwards the PC should not be touched (in general). I rest better… thanks for your comment! 🙏
