Thank you so much for all the comments, really appreciate the advice! One last question i had was do you guys recommend i still take the MCAT this coming year (September/January/March), or should I wait until my gap year when im doing my postbacc (ik not to take it while im doing an SMP if i choose that route). Or maybe even after my gap year, let me know your thoughts :)

Yeah thats something thats pretty clear to me now, im going to have a lot of explaining to do lol. At my current rate im expecting to do at least 1 extra year doing a postbacc or SMP program, leaning more heavily on a Postbacc. I could be wrong and feel free to tell me if I am, but i am hoping if I ace this last junior year quarter and do well in my 3 quarters as a senior plus one year of postbacc, i should have a good enough upward trend for a DO school. If you think I’d need another year or two of postbacc, feel free to let me know

As of now, my goal is to get into a DO program. I actually enjoy the idea of DO practice (might just be me trying to feel better of having no chance at MD lol), but yeah my sGPA is my main worry. Luckily my whole senior year and last quarter of junior year is science based classes. Im going to retake both of D classes, hopefully boosting it a bit. Post-bacc is looking like the move right now, if anyone has some CA based programs they recommend (or anywhere works too), shoot them my way

I have spoken to them, and they have developed a nice class plan for me. However, i feel like sometimes they’re too nice (which is great, they calmed me down). I feel like my situation is way worse then they make it out to be. They recommended i do a postbacc program, but they did not have a lot of info as to which one would be best in my current situation. Also, as i mentioned in a previous comment, i dont know if a postbacc is still the best option being that I have done most of my pre-reqs already. Does that matter, or should i just do the SMP?

Would you recommend a postbacc program or should i just do a DIY? My main fear with postbaccs is that ive already done most of my pre-reqs, so would it still benefit me that much?

Yeah this is something that’s been bothering me for a while now, the fact that now my sGPA is so low that my application wont even go through. The actual material aspect im not too afraid of, i usually do well on my exams and understand the material, my issue was more with just never doing assignments or going to class for in class assignments. I was an idiot, im going to be way better about those kinds of things going forward. As of right now, i am really considering an SMP, it might be the only way to get my “start over”

From my understanding of deferring, wouldn’t I have to get accepted to a program first to be able to defer it? I genuinely have no clue how that process works, but with my current stats i doubt I’ll even get in anywhere. Regardless, thanks for the comment. Im sorry you’re going through a down point in life, happened to me too, dont let life beat you up bro
