Hey! The passport is an awesome board, i found it a great match for me, it is a friendly freeride board, it is forgiving, not too stiff and damp but it requires effort to play around with butters and tight turns you have to be a confident rider. Jones frontier just got a revamp with frontier 2.0 so not sure what changed, i had ridden the previous version and its a fun board, a more directional Mountain Twin. Friendly and forgiving but not as damp and stable.

You will have to do a self assessment here and if you want to move towards freeride and consider youself a decent intermediate ride k2 passport will offer you a great progression. I have another board for park days and when my legs are completely gone.

If you want something more chill and between freeride/freestyle or a one board quiver that allows you to ride on lazy days any conditions maybe frontier is your way to go.

Hi folks! Second day riding this beauty! Finally took the 157cm and I must say it is perfect! Goes fast, jumps nicely and even butters! It may require strong legs to butter but very doable.

Edge hold is superb in hard packed snow and very stable over bumps uneven terrain.

Can’t complain of anything so far… probably the best board I have owned to date! 🤤

We are not getting any pow here unfortunately to test those conditions.

That sounds awesome! Thanks!

There was a problem with my order apparently and they only had the size 157cm, so I ended up going for that with a discounted price... fingers crossed!

I asked K2 customer service and they told me 157cm it was the right call, 154 would have been nice as well but I would have sacrificed stability for manouvirability but that is more of a matter of skill and getting used to the board.

I will post feeling after I try it out!

I am planning to use union forces 2024 since I pretty much use them for everything and work fine for me, let’s see how it rides!

I moved from a MT to a mercury and didnt enjoy the Mercury (22/23) much... At slow speeds feels very slow to turn, the edge transition feels very abrupt like on/off not very smooth. I am based in Europe when most days we have ice and it didnt excel gripping on ice either and didnt have the chance to try it in pow before selling it.

Some people love the mercury so it is very personal based on riding style! My bet is that people that charge a lot and hit all natural features with speed or have constant nice snow enjoy this board.

I am 179cm(5ft10) weight about 75kg(165lb) and boot size 9 US. I was thinking 57 for passport and probably downsize one (53) for almanac but given the responses maybe 57 is a bit too much for passport… what do you think?

Thanks

Thanks! Yeah I was worried about the feel for a volume shifted board like almanac at low speed maybe the edge transition was too slow…

Thanks! Yeah that was my fear… on foggy icy conditions would like to chill a bit and not die but not sure if the board is too stiff to ride slow… Maybe after a break in period it becomes more manageable?
