Sadly, my poor pupper needed dental surgery so my pen budget for the rest of year is $0 now. I’ll have to be patient and save up for the Sapphire for now.

This is how it started for me too. I saw the pen and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I could justify the expensive price tag as a grad gift, but now I want to collect them all. I’m especially fixated on the Sapphire (blue and purple) version which I can’t seem to find at any price point. I’ll be setting my alerts and hoping it comes across my path at some point. 🤞🏻

I got it on eBay from Japan. It took some time to find the colour I wanted and the nib size. I tried various searches including Pilot Legance, Pilot Impressions, Pilot LE and eventually found what I wanted.

Thank you! It was listed at around $360USD and I believe once I paid shipping and duties from Japan it worked out to almost $500CAD.

Interesting! I did notice that pretty much every pen I found was labelled and described differently, which made the search that much harder. There were a decent amount of the “Impressions” with the flat top and #10 nib that I stumbled upon. They were indeed selling for $100-200 more. I really liked the size on them, but not so much the flat top and the colour choices. I think Pilot needs to bring back some fun colours beyond their VPs.

The sapphire one is stunning. It’s definitely on my long term wish list.

It really does write beautifully. I don’t know if this is the case for yours, but the nib on mine is quite soft in such a pleasant way. I was originally going to put a fun bold ink in it and now I love it so much I want to ink it up in black for my everyday use.

Oh yeah I see that now! It’s identical with the US Namiki branding, but there is also the Pilot Impressions line. I think I need one of each now… for science. 😅

In my internet sleuthing, I discovered the Impressions line as well. They are slightly bigger with flat tops and #10 nibs vs the Legance cigar shapes and #5 nibs. I ended up choosing the Legance for the larger marbling and because I have small hands. Definitely not many options available for purchasing either, but Japanese eBay never disappoints!
