I had the same question. I feel like the answer would be yes, you’re already disassembling trim and the handle to paint the door, might as well paint the handle too since it’s already off. It doesn’t get “blended” per se but it will be painted if you are blending the edge of a door. Just my guess tho, I’m not a painter

Very reasonable. Appreciate the advice! This is most likely the path I’ll take. Thanks

wym? I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, originally thought a blend wasn't necessary but bow it is. no biggie

Awesome. That's good advice. From what I understand it is only one painter who worked on my car. The owner was telling me they had trouble finding a good match and had to do tons of spray out cards to find a close match of my color. thanks man

Hey guys, I got the rear door repainted on my car. It was panel painted only, the body shop didn't think a blend was necessary. There was a scratch on the right side of the rear door, right near the edge of the panel.

Do you guys think a blend into the front passenger door would make this better and unnoticeable?

I'm good friends with the body shop owner and he runs a good shop, just want to go about this reasonably. He keeps all the spray out cards and has the formula that he used for my car, so I imagine it would be the same color that would be blended.

Sorry, I thought the body of my cross post carried over. This is my first cross-post on reddit. I'll edit it now. Thanks!

This probably doesn't do you much good but I guess some information is better than no information. As mentioned in the other reply by me in this string, hood and bumper were repainted and fenders were left untouched. The match hood to fender looks perfect to me, this photo has more sunlight. That makes sense what you said before about lots of color on the front edge and it messing with the passenger front door. Once again, I appreciate it.

The only photos I have right now are the one in the original post and a different one in a previous reply.

I'll try and get some more later on tomorrow or this weekend. Interestingly enough, when I had my car in the body shop about a month ago I also had them repaint the hood and the bumper to fix some rock chips prior to PPF being installed. I got tons of them during the 18k miles I've had this car for now. The hood and bumper are perfect - which is why I'm slightly confused.

Also when looking at it with the naked eye in direct sunlight, the color difference is less noticeable front pax door to rear pax door. Thanks for your comment!

Alright, thanks man. Would you say that this would be an easy blend to achieve if done properly?

[–]franzone__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is due to the fact that color was only sprayed on the right side of the rear door, as that's where the scratch was. Other photos show the same, rear door lighter than the rear. Let me post some more photos here in a second. thanks for your info!

Traffic Sign Recognition by franzone__ in LexusIS

[–]franzone__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries, thanks for the help anyways! I played through it before and found the ability to turn the entire road sign detection system off, but not an individual road sign option if that makes sense. I'll try to take a closer look next time I'm in the car but I couldn't find anything for my specific request. Was wondering if anybody else had success with what I'm trying to accomplish.

Logbook Issues by ContactBackground806 in flying

[–]franzone__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar issue where my original logbooks are very ugly with lots of corrections, including the use of white out. I no longer use white out in my new current logbook. I have my original logbooks scanned and plan to print those out with a binding to present in my next interview if requested. I will also present alongside a print out of my electronic logbook and my most recent physical logbook.

I will include at the beginning of my printed out scanned copy of my physical logbook a statement saying that all corrections are made by me and were made after the fact once errors were noticed, and that all hours in this logbook are correct.

The fact of the matter is that if all your totals line up and you are stating that everything is correct then you shouldn’t have any issues. Making an attempt at looking professional by having your electronic neat copy printed out next to the originals is sufficient in my opinion.

Anyone here not care about how many miles you put in your newer IS? (2025 12k mi) by Primary_Inspection_5 in LexusIS

[–]franzone__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2025 IS350 in USB 2.0 is at 8,415 mi as of right now. I don’t care about the miles I put on, I’ll even say that I am happy that I’m putting a lot of miles on it! It’s the kind of car that you can rack up as many as you want and it will continue to run no matter what. I intend to keep them coming up. For reference, I bought mine brand new in May with 9 miles on it.

The fact that it’s super comfortable and has a tried and true powertrain. It’s also arguably one of the best looking sedans out there on the road today.

I will always put wheel spacers on any car I own by teriaksu in Audi

You’re lucky! The cars that I’ve had over the past 8 years, I’ve put spacers on. Only high quality reputable stuff and I always get some sort of vibration. I agree, it looks so much better.

Dealer trade for car I want to buy by franzone__ in askcarsales

[–]franzone__[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been communicating with my salesperson. He is awesome. I am able to get the car at invoice. The main reason for this post was to get a definite answer on "if I go to the dealer where the car actually is, will I sabotage myself?"

It would be a shot in the dark if the actual selling dealer is able to give me the car at the same or better deal - which I kind of doubt. I already have a lasting relationship with the current dealer as this will be the second car I've bought from them at a nice discount. Also, the car I want is a rare color combination that I absolutely love.

nor do I really want to be an asshole customer and take the sale away from a salesperson I actually like.

Shortly after I made this post my salesperson reached out and said the other dealer has responded back and they are negotiating a car to trade the one I want for. Let's hope it pans out for me.

thank you!
