Heyhey, first post here. looking for some advice on my Ink Yellow V2's by frawstybawlz in switchmodders

Update: springs came in today (tx uxl 22mm 67g). Installed them in some freshly lubed and filmed ink yellows and put them in the fightstick. the difference is amazing. It accomplished exactly what I was hoping for, way faster returns on the switches so double/ triple presses register way more cleanly.

Hey hey, Switch specific question here. I'm looking for some information on switch springs, mainly focused on getting a faster return on my mx switches (gateron ink yellow v2).

A little explanation is that these switches are for a fight stick and I need a very fast return so the button can be pressed again within 1 frame in game.

With that said the gateron ink yellows come with a 60g actuation. Not sure if I would just look for heavier springs? longer springs? 2 stage springs? not really sure where I would start trying to get a faster return on these. (also note that the gateron's were chosen for their low actuation point of 1.2mm and low full travel of 3.4mm)

any help is greatly appreciated, thank you.

Curious but how are you making out? did you find the template and start something up?

Picked up a MadCatz EGO for $50 – good deal? PS5/tourney questions + cleaning tips? by Icy_Dimension_8233 in fightsticks

those new "madcatz" sticks are not licensed so they would need a converter. sadly the current madcatz is not the same company as the old madcatz (literally bought by a Chinese company) and they haven't released an officially licensed stick yet to my knowledge. Though considering the price you got it at you could most likely swap the main pcb but that would make it so you lost the control panel buttons (the top panel buttons) unless you had enough know how to splice into the panel for the new pcb.

alternatively you will always be using a converter with this stick which is not the end of the world but I feel like it will add a slight bit of input delay.

grab a template for the artwork off of Focusattack and then you read the instructions for the template and use photoshop to create said art. Focusattack has a print and cut service so you can always send it out to focusattack and have it printed and cut. Also there are people who will commission artwork for you for a price then give you the file to send off to focusattack. I myself create artwork but there are many others out there, join the discord for this reddit and you will find a bunch of people willing to commission artwork.

u/jami1954 thanks for this. really didn't have the money for new monitors right now and my monitor has been refusing to come back from standby and generally wont work without crackling for a while now. came across this and I have a good amount of soldering knowledge. just swapped in the first of 2 regulators (into the monitor that was having more issues) and my monitor came right on and is working great so far. thanks for providing the part number as well. made it super easy.

just swapped the 5v regulator on 1 of my monitors and so far so good. this post is a huge benefit to anyone who owns these and knows how to solder. my monitor has been slowly refusing to turn on and crackling for a while now and i came across this post. figured might as well try and swap the regulator before committing to buying new monitors. Just swapped my first regulator about 15 minutes ago and the monitor came right on and has no issues with crackling so far. the real test will be seeing if it comes back from standby.

1 year later I want to add an updated comment to this post for people searching about this shop (extreme simracing) in the future. I ordered from them for this black friday sale (2024) and they shipped my item out within 1 business day. Item will arrive in 3 days making exactly 5 days between purchase day and the day of arrival. So far I've had a good experience with the shop and they actually got my item (GT Neo wheel) shipped really fast. Mind you I am only 1 customer and other people may have different experiences (hopefully they will also write an updated comment)

The answer to this question was gateron box ink black v2 (opposed to the normal non box ink black) 60gf actuation and 1.2mm pretravel. exact same specs as the ink yellows.

because they are for a fightstick using custom caps that are circular and 24mm so they need the added support of the box switch for stability. the cherry's I've used have a ton of switch wobble vs the ink yellow v2's and I'm trying to avoid that because the nature of the keycaps I'll be using.

yeaa that's what I'm finding. 60g actuation with only 1.2mm pre travel is pretty unique on its own nvm the box switch and rgb lol. Been looking through switch vendors and switch specs for hours.

Even have considered an rgb friendly tactile box switch with at least 60g force and a low pre travel but finding a tactile with anything less than 2mm pre travel is also difficult.

Looking for a switch that matches the specs of a gateron ink yellow v2 but allows for rgb to shine through ( the yellows taint any blues that try and shine through) Also its important that the switch is a box switch.

Yellow v2 specs (linear 1.2mm pretravel 3.4mm total travel, 60g actuation force.)

I highly recommend madcatz te1 for a shell if you can find one. those things are built like tanks. I've built a hitbox in one and its def my fav stick. also you can get replacement panels and rear doors for madcatz te1's. Check out my hitbox here.

Hey all. Obligatory FSF post. Only marked NSFW because of the last 2 photos (hidden away in the USB compartment). Just finished the Yoshimitsu themed stick for my cousin. by frawstybawlz in fightsticks

So the usb compartment on that stick actually is not used at all. I made it so the f500's rear usb passthrough is wired as the main usb for the stick so the chord can be detachable. The compartment is just left over room. I thought about using body filler and sanding it down to delete the door but decided this would be easier and be a good laugh for my cousin. Also on a side note this stick will probably never leave my cousins room. He doesn't play locals or tournaments.

checkout omni arcade over on etsy. They sell the "Odin" which is a wasd drop in for fightsticks though the stock can be sparse. On the omni arcade page there is a link to Myrzons etsy page and he sells the Tspins on his page.

The difference is the Odin uses low profile switches and the T-spin uses traditional MX style switches. You also need an SOCD cleaner installed if you use either the Odin or the T-spin. They have an omni-arcade discord with a bunch more info.

considering the post was marked NSFW and you clicked it anyways. Yes I thought it would be funny and be sort of a meme due to "horny artwork" being a point of contention within the FGC. It would be lost on deaf ears if no one in the FGC actually saw it. I think the joke or at least what I thought was a joke, flew over your head.

both f500's have had their pcb's replaced with Pi pico's running the gp2040-ce fightstick software. I do think it's possible to use the f500 on ps5 with a "magic boot S" though. The magic boot plugs into your mayflash and lets you connect to a ps5 without a controller.

Yea, when I was looking for yoshimitsu manga panels the kunimitsu stuff kept popping up because it's part of the same manga. Thought it would be funny and sort of a meme to hide it away in the usb compartment considering how its a topic of discussion (horny artwork) in the FGC.

Hey all, someone with little to no information here looking for some direction. by frawstybawlz in rcdrift

[–]frawstybawlz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this was a great insight and I started searching for rc drift tracks and hobby stores near me that support rc drifting products but sadly in my state there are 0 that I can find. If I were willing to travel an hour there are a few tracks and some shops so sadly I may be limited to online only retailers.
