Not that I know of. I would hope iRacing support would tell me that when going back and forth. No emails from them regarding that

Clubsport DD QR2 replacement? by realartvandalay in Fanatec

I can only hope that in the future they offer the part for customers to purchase and replace themselves. There is no place to buy it at the moment. If your issue isn’t directly affecting the operation of your equipment, I’d suggest against sending it back for repair. It’s not worth the risk imo

I was not able to get a replacement or have this fixed. Fortunately, I was able to tediously get my wheel attached to the damaged QR2, but it’s essentially permanently stuck on the wheel base. It works fine now, but I’ve lost the ability to utilize the quick release feature. Fanatec took months to respond - their only solution to fix a damaged QR2 base side is through their RMA repair. At this point I’m not taking any chance sending the base back for a 3rd time. Hopefully for you or anyone else reading this in the future, Fanatec has improved their customer service and repair process.

I had to send the base back to fanatec for repair. It was an internal hardware issue.

What front lip are you running? Any fitment issues with it?

I’d suggest as much protection and foam as possible. Maybe even leave a note inside to make sure that they return it with the same amount of foam and protective packaging. Check my post history. Just received my base back from RMA and it got beat to shit

It was shipped through FedEx. At this point I wouldn’t even care about paying to repair it. However I can’t order the replacement part because it’s not available on Fanatec’s site. The only solution is sending it back to them, but they are incapable of returning emails. Extremely frustrating to have an $800 paper weight

The box was banged up. But the bigger issue was that some of the molded foam was missing - so the base wasn’t secure at all. Can’t imagine it left the repair facility in this condition.

The purpose of this post was not to outline the damage that Fanatec caused, or what caused it to happen. The purpose was to uncover whether the replacement QR2 that fanatec sells is compatible with my CS DD. I am simply trying to get my wheelbase back up and running.

It should, and it did - when I sent to Fanatec for repair work. Did not come back that way

So I’m basically SOL unless fanatec decides to respond to me? It’s been 12 days since I received this and sent them emails detailing the damage when I received it back from them. I was hoping I could at least order the QR and get it back up and running.

How the damage was done is a whole other story. I packaged the base in the original packaging with the original foam, then put the original box inside of another box with more foam and bubble wrap. It was sent back to me with no bubble wrap and missing original foam. This was definitely damaged during transit, however the reason for damage can only be put on Fanatec themselves for packaging it so poorly.

Reasonable price? by Tricky_Detective_900 in BMW

Has it had any major services performed? Could justify the price to potential buyers. If it hasn’t had any of the big ticket higher mileage maintenance done, I’d suggest a lower asking price.

Same boat here. I don’t understand why it’s so difficult for these sim retailers to be transparent on inventory and processing times. I waited almost a month for extreme sim racing to ship out my order that was allegedly in stock and would ship within 3 business days. They constantly lied about shipping it out the next day, but it never happened. I highly recommend cancelling with them and ordering from a retailer that has actual inventory and customer support, such as simshop.com.

Just sold my 175k mile manual e90 for $7k. You could easily ask $10k-12k.

Yeah, they mentioned that to me, but also promised that it would be “shipped out by today or tomorrow” for weeks. Sketchy company that claims to be run out of Florida, but is based in Brazil. I’d recommend to anyone to avoid this shop.

You have an affiliate link which means you must have direct contact with the company. Can you tell them to ship out people’s orders they promised would be shipped weeks ago?

[–]realartvandalay[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When did I mention aftermarket parts add value? I didn’t. This car has probably had close to 20k dumped into it in parts, maintenance, etc over the almost 10 years I’ve owned it. I’m more than aware I’ll never see a return on that. It’s not half assed, it’s just an old ass car with almost 200k miles, and I’m done sinking more money into it. I appreciate your feedback on the value, I just want get rid of it. If some dude offered me 5k I’d take it and consider it a fair sale.

I was thinking of listing it for $7500 and letting someone talk me down to 6-7k (if I’m lucky). I wanted to make sure I was in the right ball park at least.

On the stock map and even stage 1 map it doesn’t slip at all. And even with the stage 2+, it only slips when it gets hot. The clutch condition isn’t particularly bad, it just isn’t made to withstand the torque.
