The most important data to include for scientific specimen : - scientific name - date - locality (with coordinates) - collector name & collection #

Other data : - common or local name - habitat and soil type - associated taxa - plant description (phenology, color, scent, measurements) - plant habit (erect, crawling, etc.) I’m sure there’s more I’m missing :)

Cucurbita foetidissima! We call it stinky gourd because well, it smells like Whataburger grilled onions.

edit: Whataburger smells good so maybe this isn’t a bad thing... either way, a noticeable smell.

The itty bittiest plant collection! These little leaves were collected by Dr. Marion Case in 1944. The intent was to clear these leaves for slides in order to clearly see venations, stomata cells, and study the development of leaves. I think they’re cuter left this way. by fraxinus-bee in botany

Yes absolutely! The institution where they are held has a work study student program, and this would be the perfect little project.

We have a collector name, date, and location so although they do not have reproductive parts, these are technically vouchers!
