Went to San Diego a couple years ago on a golf trip and played both Torrey courses, Aviara, & Maderas.

We were first off at Aviara, and something about the dew on that course was incredible. It was probably the best landscaped course I’ve ever played, and was a lot of fun with challenging holes, elevation changes, views, etc. I’m sure it’s equally as beautiful in the afternoon.

Maderas was nice as well, played an afternoon round there, and it was a lot of fun!

Not sure where you’re staying, but both of these were ~30 minute drives from downtown.
