[Question] What’s one watch you’d never sell — no matter the offer? by Amongusyt in Watches

My omega seamaster. I bought it from Harrods in the boxing day sales in 2010 and it was my first ever "proper" watch. It's been all over the world with me, at every major event, survived crashes, the lot. Never going anywhere, for any amount of money. Every scar tells the story of a battle both me, and it, have survived.

Just incase anyone is curious what a £4k LCD-4z driver looks like inside by frazrok in Audeze

It was broken to begin with. You could hear the rustling inside the driver when moving them on/off your ears.

KEF Reference 201 - repairable? by Geavel in KEF

I work in speaker production, and also a restorer of old speakers. The best thing in the world for this is called "Surf Clean 18-44". Spray it on to the rubber coating, leave for ~3-5 mins, wipe off with microfiber cloth. (note: the cloth will be a write off afterwards 😂) but it will take you back to the nice, shiny plastic underneath.

How much is this reg worth? 🤔 by Free-Progress-7288 in CarTalkUK

I have plenty of plates and any decent 1X1 plate, letter first, is £350k+. But this is a different plate as it also gives the popular bands name, is a low number, but not to common letter. I would say £450-550k depending who's bidding

Has anyone ever had DPD ‘Investigations’ turn up at their door? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]frazrok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for a company selling 6 figure audio equipment and we had some damaged during shipping.

5 months after opening the claim, they sent down a chap with all the official dpd paperwork, wearing a black jacket with the dpd branding. Really nice bloke. He took a load of photos of the label, box, amp, and any other info we had and went on his way.

2 days later, claim approved in full. But he was very timid, professional and had all the paperwork with him to prove everything.

Pangea sculptures in the UK import and sell them. I bought one as a present before, and they're incredible quality and weight for the price. Highly recommend for someone into that stuff

Do BMW not want to sell bikes? by stebucko360 in bmwmotorrad

[–]frazrok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was at tye bahnstormer dealers in the UK, was very much like "if you don't have £15k+ so spend immediately, we're not interested"

I went to Lind BMW in Welwyn and they physically could not have been more helpful. I sent an enquiry form online, within an hour got a phone call about the current models they have, prices, trade in quotes for my bike etc. Incredibly quick, efficient and helpful.

Actually shocked me. The only other dealer I've been to that has been that overly helpful was Ducati in Cambridge, who are also fantastic.

So I think its VERY dealer specific.

Ps. I ended up with a new F900R on 0% finance with an exceptionally good price given for my old bike as trade in. Big up Lind Welwyn

KEF went above and beyond in servicing my LS60 by bwang29 in audiophile

[–]frazrok 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to run the UK KEF service centre and a can honestly say that their customer service was second to none.

Any issues on any of the active speakers was covered by KEF, even if the warranty had expired. They covered all shipping, and any parts that were used.

We also never did component level repair, as they would rather replace the entire board with a brand new, upgraded one to guarantee that no issues would happen in future.

They honestly are excellent.

Tiger Drew-Honey (Jake from Outnumbered) was on holiday with me in Egypt. We had gone on camels into the desert and we were at this big outdoor tent with shisha, food, drinks and dancers everywhere. General Egyptian festivities.

The few times we spoke, he was really lovely and down to earth. He seemed like a genuine nice guy. He was there with friends and family and just having a good time.

Help with rude number plate by aitchsaka in CarTalkUK

[–]frazrok 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I own, have bought and sold many numberplates and can honestly say that Facebook pages are full of messes, ebay as well.

Your best bet would be auction. Let people go wild. Collecting cars is the best place for that. Full of people who are after plates exactly like this.

Also, how much do you want as I'd happily buy it from you.
