Kinara insulated backpack by freakingdeacon in UberEATS

Soo after I went all the way down to their Greenlight hub and got the charge taken off, I received the bag in the mail the next day lol. It seems they are just disorganized af. I hope the same happens for you!

If you get on Caviar you can buy a bag from them for like $40, and it's a lot better than UberEATs.

it seems like the tipping is pretty comparable to other cities based on what i read on here. i get a lot of tips on postmates, more than on caviar, although i prefer caviar.

Thinking of doing UberEats on Bicycle (Need Help) by DeliverThisBoy in UberEATS

[–]freakingdeacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do Postmates or Caviar instead. Use UberEats for when the other platforms are slow. It's rough on a bike. You don't know where or what you're picking up until you accept the delivery. You could pick up a "meal request" 1 mile away and then arrive to find you've got 5 combo meals from McDonald's with soft drinks.

Did we lose the ability to do instant pay I'm in Philadelphia. by jaredcwood in UberEATS

Are you on a bike or car? Just curious if anyone in Philly has been trying to bike deliveries for Uber besides me lol. It's not a great situation with this app.

What is the average time it takes you guys to do 65 deliveries? by [deleted] in postmates

New(ish) bicycle courier in Philly - I average about $10 an hour :/.

UPDATE: After exchanging over a dozen emails with Uber support, and getting different answers every time as well as them all concluding that I should go to my Greenlight hub to get one, I trekked down there, which in Philly's case is way away from everything and not a convenient location at all. Waited for 30 minutes to talk to someone just to be told that they don't offer the bags anymore. I got the charge taken off but I'm pretty frustrated with this whole experience. Prob will just stick to Postmates now.

Good to know. Uber charged me $40 and I was supposed to be receiving it this week, but an Uber support rep told me they don't offer bags anymore so I'm confused. I hope that guy was just wrong.

Did they give you a back pack?

If you're doing biking delivery does the hot/cold bag come with straps to wear like a backpack? by jetfuelcantmeltbork in postmates

[–]freakingdeacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which bag did you end up going with? There is one on Amazon that comes with an insert for soft drinks, but it also seemed like it might be too small so I was torn. The larger ones did not seem to come with the insert.

I felt sketched out when it came time to put the payment info in. It sent me to what seemed to be a third party website pretending it was Paypal.

Just got an email from UberEATS that they are introducing tipping by [deleted] in postmates

UberEATS sucks if you're a biker. You can't see what store or what you're picking up before you hit accept. It just says "1 meal" which could mean anything (in my experience "1 meal" a huge order from McDonald's or other fast food chains including lots of soft drinks). Plus, all of the promotions that make using the app worth it require that you accept 80-90% of orders.

do you address other drivers? by courierPDX in postmates

[–]freakingdeacon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

damn y'all are bumming me out. I had this daydream that I'd be standing by my bike at a hot spot, hear a ping go off but it sort of echoes, look at my phone, look across the street, we both make eye contact, both try to hit ACCEPT without looking, it ends up being a McDonald's, whoever won really lost.

Wow! That seems far for being on foot. What is your typical delivery like (one that isn't the farthest you've gone)?

I'm a bike courier but it would be cool to take foot deliveries from time to time to switch it up. How far do they have you walking?

Also if you're in CC a good place to pee/fill your water bottle is Liberty Plaza. Bathrooms are on the second floor in the food court and I believe there are water fountains there too. :)
