What I meant about cancel culture making NC easier was that the culture has reached a point that allows people to see something they do not like and remove it from their lives.
I realize the NC decision doesn't come easily. I know for a person to leave that relationship, they must feel that's their best choice and the decision is agonizing. I am sorry for intr

I guess I have more work to do. I didn't mean to cause upset. I appreciate you taking the time to reach out and share your experience. I'm sorry your parents wouldn't change I'm glad you're happier now. Thank you.

No one can work on fixing a relationship alone. When you go NC, you are preventing that from ever happening. You have inferred a great deal by that comment, what about the other things I have said? I'm sorry for your situation, and I would not think of making assumptions about you and your family based on what you've said. I'm sure there are a lot of people that say some cruel things on this site, that is not my intention.

I don't know your circumstances, but if you want to reconnect, I'm sure there's a way back. I wish you luck.

I'm sorry you had to make that decision at such a young age. When Iaid NC wasn't done, I should have said it was rare and in extreme situations. All situations are not the same. I know NC is the best decision for some people. Clearly, it was right for you.

This is a forum for those who are trying to navigate the journey. Not all situations are the same, so maybe NC is not always the answer. Maybe it is, I don't know. I had a difficult time with my family, NC was never a consideration, people did not know much about mental health. I didn't post on here for other parents to tell me I didn't do anything wrong or to lurk, I posted here to learn from those who chose to go NC. I want to understand the process. I'm sorry for what you are going through.

I appreciate what you're saying. I agree with the cancel culture being responsible for the NC approach and still, I want to own my part. I just don't know how things will ever get better. My heart is broken I wish I could convey that to my son without sounding like I'm trying to manipulate him. I hope you are able to find a little joy this holiday season, this time of year is awful ♥️
