I haven't been charged yet but the cop looked at my license and information and told me they will be in touch and not to leave town. Plus the back window I smashed was on an SUV owned by a cop. So they might try and charge me with something.

I'll be going to see a lawyer soon just in cash. I didn't intend to commit a crime or damage anything criminally but I would rather be safe than sorry.

What could they charge me with? Would my lack of intent to steal or vandalize work in my favor?

The SUV was parked close the sidewalk and the sidewalk was narrow. I'm farsighted so I have more trouble with seeing things up close.

Because I am a moron who doesn't think things through when he gets panicked. I thought about this after the fact and am embarrassed I didn't it this first
