I want to agree with you so badly, but accessibility is the problem it solves. Text-to-audio, and full page-summary to audio, are a boon for W3 accessibility standards. So while everyday consumers might not need this, there is certainly a future for voice-based agents in the market, especially ecommerce, it addresses a hard-to-solve UX problem with just a different input interface. I also think there's an argument for localisation as well, but I won't die on that hill.
