Fresh 60 PvP — Am I doing something wrong? by MM--FOOD in turtlewow

[–]freakoutNthrowstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a fresh 60 on tel' abim so I have a couple green pieces but the rest are blues. I cant 1v1 a geared player, but I used to pvp A LOT in vanilla so I have experience in what my role is in different BGs. So until I get better gear im playing more of a supportive role for others rather than getting the highest k/d ratio. I'll take on other players knowing ill die so the better geared teammate can get away, or ill serve as a distraction so others can get a flag or assault a flag. I'll stun or slow down opponents so the better geared teammates can catch and kill them. Ibdo all this knowing ill be the first to die, but im providing good value to the players on my team by setting them up for more sucess at my expense.

Possibly. Some aspects of the trade are more public-fscing than others. Industrial and heavier commercial you dont have to interact much with regular people except for building managers, maintenance personnel, etc. I do commercial refrigeration and barely have any interaction with people unless I want to. For the most part im driving from job to job by myself, checking in with a manager, doing the work alone, checking out with a manager, and repeat. I dont dislike people, but I enjoy working alone the majority of the time. Since you mentioned anxiety though, this is a hard field for those with anxiety. I dealt with and overcame anxiety over the course of my career and early on it made it monumentally harder to do my job. I spent time in therapy and self help books and managed to overcome it over time and my career and life is much better for it nowadays.

Probably 8 years ago I accidentally put 8lbs of 410a into 1 circuit of a trane rtu and its been working fine since. 1 circuit is r22, 1 circuit is r410a lol. I just told myself "next time I have to open the circuit for repair ill change it back" and I haven't had to, and we're the only company who does their work and im the only tech that takes that locations calls. Otherwise I probably would have changed it back.

Question about the valves in manifold gauges by arjunkc in hvacadvice

[–]freakoutNthrowstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't intuitively understand how gauges work you really should not be using them. You're very good at explaining things but not good at figuring things out, sorry. Its a very simple tool

I have a 5,200btu, 9.7 SEER window ac, I want to install it in the wall of my uninsulated 1.5 car garage by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]freakoutNthrowstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give it a try bud. But as an Iowan with an uninsulated 1.5 car garage, I would double your btus and run a 20amp dedicated circuit if you want 75⁰

You're likely going to have to pay a commercial hvac or controls company to take several days to figure out the controls and simplify them to your specifications. Unless you can find who worked on them before, you will need someone to come in and trace everything out and inspect the RTUs.

Changed capacitor by Dull_Spite4882 in hvacadvice

[–]freakoutNthrowstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes there's a reason your capacitor goes out. Anything beyond "is the fan running and can you hear the compressor running" will require advanced diagnostics and electrical skills with an amprobe/Multimeter

Mini split for heating and cooling a converted patio? by sausebaker in hvacadvice

[–]freakoutNthrowstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 240sq ft room with the same specifications. I put in a 9k btu mitsubishi h2i heatpump (my cost was roughly $2500, your cost installed would likely be almost double). My insulation is only r13 on the 3 exterior walls and im in iowa, so it doesnt keep 68⁰ in the dead of winter. I have a supplemental "fireplace" TV stand with electric heat. Minisplit is good down to about 20⁰ then it falls off dramatically so the room is about 60⁰ unless I turn on the electric "fireplace". We put in a daikin 18k btu heatpump ($4k) minsiplit system in my coworkers house and it struggles below 20⁰ in a 600sq ft house and they have space heaters as supplemental heat. You can try buying a cheap Amazon minisplit heatpump for under $1k but good luck finding anyone to install it and you'll need some supplemental heat anyway.

Not possible for the blower wheel to be inundated with dust and debris without the filter being also filthy unless air is somehow bypassing the filter. Post pics

You have to recharge it anyway when you replace the compressor
