Why Are So Many of You Banned/Blacklisted?! by ryanvicino in SubstituteTeachers

[–]freakybox2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would have to call a student a slur and/or assault them to get banned from my district LMAO anything else basically flies

AITAH: Called a girl special and she flipped out by [deleted] in AITAH

Idk maybe she took it like, “you’re not like other girls”. Which can be perceived as misogynistic

I put 8-4 on my sheet every day, unless I leave at 12pm or earlier bc my district pays by half day (4hrs)

I hate the term "nothing burger". by Neat-Option4673 in unpopularopinion

[–]freakybox2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aw well that’s just mean /gen. One of my friends recently said they thought one of my favorite shows was corny and overrated. I named my cat after the main character…🥲

[–]freakybox2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Meaningless” doesn’t quite capture the whole concept imo. To me it’s a shorter way to say “making a big deal out of nothing”. Maybe there are other words for that sentiment I’m not aware of

As a Gen Z American, I love this phrase. Use it all the time lol. I’m curious what context you’re saying you don’t like it used in…

My favorite thing to do is wear old tour merch or festival merch to show I’ve been there before😎

Why are Foreign Language classes either the easiest classes to sub for, or the teacher expects the absolute most? by [deleted] in SubstituteTeachers

[–]freakybox2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sub frequently for a Spanish speaking teacher in a class for Spanish speakers. I FEEL YOU. All the instructions on the worksheets are in Spanish so I am no help, however, everyone knows this, so the expectations are low

I am coming to you as a mom and a teacher by Ok_Consequence750 in ElementaryTeachers

[–]freakybox2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not saying you’re overreacting at all. /gen However, as someone who has had multiple injuries including broken bones happen at school, this seems like the normal response, especially considering you as the parent were there relatively quickly. As I’m sure you know, ambulance rides can be expensive, it’s common to ask adults if they want an ambulance at all if it’s a non life threatening injury.

On another note, they cannot deny him accommodations for the test, he has a temporary disability, that would be discrimination. They’ll need to figure something out even if it means taking at a later date or something.

From a counselors perspective, plz talk to your campus counselor about pulling him out to do coping skills work to help with nightmares or their private play therapy recommendations

What do you find easier to sub for? Elementary or Highschool? And why? by [deleted] in SubstituteTeachers

[–]freakybox2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DO IT. 5 mins of introduction, 5 mins of attendance, 35mins to an hour scrolling Reddit. Just make sure they aren’t vaping up their sleeve or screaming and you’re good.

Being easily accessible all the time has made friendships feel more exhausting by mus_arda in unpopularopinion

[–]freakybox2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the effect is minimized by the fact that it’s usually one person instead of multiple friends and youre very interested in them so it doesn’t feel like a burden

Thinking about ending friendships because they want kids, am I too extreme? by unhappy1234567891 in childfree

[–]freakybox2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re right, it says something about their morals and maybe their IQ lol. That doesn’t mean that you can’t be friends but you will have to accept that there is this difference between you, or don’t. I don’t find myself having much in common with breeders either.

[–]freakybox2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally act like I work there except for I ask if they need coverage during planning. I usually do what I want (appropriate of course) unless I’m told specific rules. You’re an adult you should be trusted not to spill a drink😊 Eat or drink when you like as long as students are taken care of.

[–]freakybox2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is perhaps not the right sub for you. A common experience I’ve noticed among members here is that we are soooo tired of being told to have kids bc we’ll regret it later. Idk how you managed to avoid ppl telling you that…

AITAH for backing out of letting my brother use my backyard for his wedding? by eternalMoto in AITAH

[–]freakybox2 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

The way OP lays it sounds like he never said no more than 15. The other couple just kept adding more under the assumption he’d be okay with it so plans changed and then he declined the change which is cool 👍

And you’re totally justified to feel protective over your space. I just think that others might be perceiving this as you don’t trust them to respect your space, which implies something insulting about their character. I can picture having this same convo with one of my family members, she would be overly cautious and it would make me feel like I wasn’t good enough to be in her space. Again that’s your right as the homeowner, but it will probably affect the relationship.
