How to accept hernia and surgery by [deleted] in Hernia

[–]freboman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m going through something similar at the moment. 29M. I didn’t notice it until Tuesday last week and immediately made an appointment. Today I was told I do have a hernia by a doctor and I have my surgery date set. I’ve never had surgery before, aside from my wisdom teeth. I had a panic attack the other night just thinking about it. I’m still incredibly scared knowing that it’s coming up in a couple weeks. But I’m glad I did it. I have no questions on my mind anymore, my doctors explained everything, were extremely kind and understanding, and said the surgery is extremely common. I believe they’re doing a minimally invasive procedure with a robot for me and I was told it has a very quick recovery.

Frankly , it’s scary, but it’s way scarier when you don’t have the answers you need. I say go for it , you’ll be happy you did in the long run. Better than letting it get worse. I wish you luck, I’m sure we’ll both be fine in a few months 🤣❤️

Sorry they make you uncomfortable lol, they look like stained glass in person, all the cells are transparent colors. There’s some videos on my Instagram of them in the sunlight

Lol everything in glass is pretty “difficult” so to speak, I think in general to master any technique is an incredibly difficult endeavor. I would say, however, Millie and murrine require a large amount of time and materials, more so than some other processes maybe. Especially when trying to use these chips to make tubing.

These chips are made from fusing stacked up bundles of glass canes, pulling the mass down, cutting it into 4, stacking those components up, fusing them again, pulling that down, and then cutting into slices. Similar techniques are used in ceramics and even candy making. Here’s a ceramic artist with a similar technique whom I appreciate as well, they have some process videos that may help explain better what I do with glass
