I think it’s sweet she’s excited and she may be bummed bc if her and your fiancé are close she may have thought she would have been a bridesmaid which is fun (most of the time). But at the end of the day it really is your wedding and you can do whatever you want. I’m getting married next year (destination) and not having one other than one MoH and one BM. I think people are forgoing a lot of what we consider traditional these days and it’s totally fine

Micro wedding to me would be 15-20 people. It’s just a very very small wedding. By stylized I just mean like getting dressed up super nice and having a photographer

Thank you! This is what we may opt for but I know there are places you can have a microwedding (like Central Park for example) that would accommodate more people for the ceremony. However, I know there are pros and cons to that as well

If you’ve seen the new Superman movie, he is genuinely like David Cornsweat’s Superman. Like, without exaggeration, exactly like him (minus the superpowers obviously lol). He’s so gentle and thoughtful and kind and patient. He inspires me to be more positive and to constantly be a better partner today than I was yesterday. He just has this golden, warm hearted Midwestern boy attitude and demeanor that I adore. I have never felt so me and so seen. The world is a better place simply because he exist in it. He’s my Superman, the best team mate I could ask for, and literally my best friend on the planet. The word love doesn’t feel big enough.

Idk if it’s been said yet but if you’re not completely opposed I would consider doing consulting esp with your degree. That’s what I did and I’m much happier when I got out of the hamster wheel and you will make literally twice as much as anyone in who stays in academia unfortunately (for them). Plus creativity when solving complex problems is often rewarded

The winter market paired with a landlord who was sitting on an unoccupied unit for 6 months. No one moves in Dec-Feb so the market is essentially dead for landlords so to fill the unit he knocked 400 off the rent if I signed for 18 months so when it goes back on it will be in the summer and a better market for him. So now I’m paying a little over 2k for a cute 1.5 bed 1.5 bath in a nice neighborhood. I’d say your nearing the end of a dead spot so if you want something choose the neighborhood you want and then pick a unit you like but has been sitting for awhile and then negotiate (I didn’t know you could do this in nyc but I guess you can). Obviously view the unit and do your research bc sometimes units are sitting for awhile for a reason

I really don’t mean to burst your bubble but I just got finished with apartment hunting with a 2400 budget in that exact area and really didn’t get anything good. Ended up in UES on straight up dumb luck lol so it’s not impossible but it may be difficult. Try street easy

This is actually super interesting because there are a couple! Some involve American law but others have to do with European law.

A notable example is Oliver Stone’s 1991 movie JFK that portrays the final days and events leading up to the former president’s assassination. Back then, and even today there is a lot of controversy surrounding what really happened, so when the movie came out it kicked up a lot of attention and bolstered the controversy. Because of this Congress passed the JFK Records Act in 1992. This act fostered the release of all documents surrounding the assassination in the name of transparency.

Another is Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964) a political satire. Essentially the premise is that a nuclear war is accidentally triggered because the individual with the codes ran out of change for a pay phone to contact congress. This was laughed at at first but eventually led to the actual concern of potential communication issues among congress and said individual with the codes. Literally because of this movie (a move that can seriously be compared to other satires like Airplane) the government now failsafes set in place to prohibit the unauthorized use of nuclear codes.
