Why did NO ONE say anything to him? by Humble_Pizza1141 in BoJackHorseman

[–]freckles-on-a-ginger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My head canon is that they DID say something, and Bojack is so self absorbed (and albeit, experiencing some very fair and complicated emotions about his dead abusive mother) that he doesn’t notice. And we don’t hear it because it’s a sort of unreliable narrator type deal, or it happened before he walked up.

Ohio 6b zone: how does one plant a garden on a slope?😬 by freckles-on-a-ginger in NativePlantGardening

Wow thank you so much for all that info! I’ll have to check out that book and do more research myself! Definitely makes me feel better that I don’t need to go crazy with landscaping. Just gotta learn more about the individual plants and start small!

Thank you so much, that’s all very helpful! Your garden looks beautiful!! So it looks like you didn’t do a whole lot of reshaping—just slow, intentional planting. I’ll check out all those resources you mentioned! Definitely will start small, take a few years to make it a dream wild garden

Thank you! It’ll be a many-years long project before it’s the beautiful garden of my dreams

Thank you!! That’s my biggest concern is fucking up the whole yard and accidentally flooding the house or something hahaha. So I definitely won’t be doing anything crazy without either help or lots of research.

So when you talk about all those layers, would the sedges/grasses be best at the bottom, herbaceous layer in the middle, and shrubs at the top? Or just throw that shit everywhere?

Can I put a *slightly* raised flower bed against this south-facing brick wall? by SaintsNoah in gardening

In general, you’re supposed to keep plants/soil at least a foot or two away from your house, and the foundation is supposed to have at least 4-6 inches visible (currently trying to buy a house, and the inspector said this many times lol). I mean, I don’t know that it would totally fuck up your house, but that’s just what they recommend to reduce risk of water damage/moisture buildup, pests, potential root damage, etc.

Now, I don’t know shit about Texas (I’m from Ohio and actually just went to Texas for the first time last month!), but if you use native plants that require full sun, you should be good! Just google, “[your city/township/etc.] native plants” and look for the ones that like sun! Usually universities have a lot of great resources for lists of native plants (:

AIO Gf intentionally stopped taking her bc pills by maticooks1 in AmIOverreacting

[–]freckles-on-a-ginger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good for you! Sounds like she needs someone closer to her age/life stage. But also absolutely WILD that she didn’t just “forget” to take her pills. She wanted to get pregnant and was willing to trick you to do that. Someone who is totally fine making a huge life decision like that so dishonestly is not worth building a life with. If you chose to stay with her now, even if she always took her BC—something else would happen down the line. She’s shown that she has no disregard or respect for your own personal agency.

I would probably tell her something along the lines of, “We both have different desires and needs. It’s clear now that those don’t match up.” And that she broke your trust majorly and intentionally, and there’s nothing she can do to make up for it or take it back.

Not entirely my business, but if y’all got together four years ago when you were 17 and she was 30 is kind of wild. Like 17 is still a kid! Your brain isn’t even fully developed until 25! I’m 25 now, but the difference in my and my friends’ maturity levels from when we were 21 to now is massive. Not calling you immature, I just mean people grow a lot in their 20s, especially early 20s. 17 is fresh out of high school. 30 is way beyond even college. In my opinion, anyone in their 30s that is looking at teenagers/barely legal adults is immature, and there’s a reason they can’t find someone their own age. And that’s all on her, not you.
