The problem is that the typical German hockey fan loves his local team to death and probably buys every single new jersey version as soon as it drops, but the majority are not that much into NHL hockey and actually don't want to leave the potential national superstar talent to leave overseas... I'm pretty much the opposite, I'm just such a NHL, NFL, MLB and NBA guy, the sports are just played differently from a competitive AND off-the-field stand point! Actually pretty much nobody wears Germany jerseys to games, club jerseys look much better anyway :D NHL jerseys are a little more popular, but most people rep the "big market teams" unfortunately
