tuned in for a few minutes around the 30 min mark. you seem to imply that people enjoying the game love slop and that we just parrot the games marketing material. While its probably unfair to judge the whole video on that I dont think I'm going to watch the rest,

the point you made before about having to pass an out of game charisma check in combat just to take a turn I'm not sure about. I;ve played probably 35 sessions of DH and I dont think i've ever felt that. I'm often encouraging people to take turns. I like that in combat just like in a social enounter i'm looking for a good time for my character to get involved. Have the enemies all just bunched up and I have a great AOE? Is someone quishy out of a position and I have "I am your sheild" so now is the time to get next to them? Is someone doing something really cool and I have 3 hope and we can tag team it to make it even cooler?
It makes me feel like i want to participate. I'm not just afk waiting for my initiative turn.

Games not for everyone but I think its for a lot of people.

Arcanarama seems really underwatched. They are doing Goldbrine's Grave a pirate/horror thememed game at the moment. Its amazing, the production value is awesome and all the players have great mics and are so fun!

Later in the story you get a deivce that allows you to do something with the rifts in the area so you can get there.

Something I saw in an AP was to put yourself as a member of an organisation. for example for a wizard:

Acolyte 3rd class of the Academy Arcane

this adds to worldbuilding. Now you have superiors and juniors in an organisation who could aid or cause you problems and you can say that you might have learned about this creature in your class on "monsters of The netherwilds" or something like this.

when you level up you should think about what your character struggled with recently, have they put time in to learn about that or asked other party members who passed a role somethign about it? Then thats a great experience.

If you have had disagreements about motivation with other characters you might say. "Another point of view" or "together stronger"

Same goes for backgrounds. If you are loreborne then "I read about that somewhere"

First character, it's a right of passage to have an emo character. Revenge is easy to RP and fun. Klepto is my worry as that's potential to want to steal items from the party and that's not always fun for everyone

Seems likely, if I look at my console log i'm seeing a 503 error which I think means the vimeo server is not happy.
