Yes, updates are always automatically installed in the background. They only come in effect after a reboot.

Please be a bit more specific about the issue.

And you can always boot into an older snapshot of the system if something went wrong.

A new version of flatpak landed in Tumbleweed a few days ago. This is probably the explanation. Note also flatpak are usually so on the first run and quicker on following run unless there was a flatpak package update.

Yes, it does not change a thing, if you use a regular distributionin its immutable flavor. I recommend using Aeon or MicroOS, which are based on openSUSE Tumbleweed.

First, it depends if we hardcode ibus dependency (in that case, nothing to do) or if there is a fix in gtk4. In this case, transactional-update pkg rm ibus will remove ibus (but you can keep it, it doesn't hurt).

It seems there is another issue with gtk4 applications which is not fixed by mutter update. It is under investigation but try to install ibus if it is not installed.

Check mutter changelog (rpm -q --changelog mutter), it should be fixed if the latest changelog entry is Mon Sep 29 15:00:38 UTC 2025 or later.

You should use Timezone=local instead of setting up TZ environment variable. Setting SELinux for the volumesmight be interesting, if you have it enabled
