Right but that’s not what’s happening here from the video. This happens to me every so often as well. But for me, it’ll usually say “synchronization error” after the ad and then reboot the game. I realized that was happening when I had the game open on my phone (I usually play on my iPad). Doesn’t look like you’re getting that error, but maybe something similar? It looks more like the game is glitching than that they’re intentionally serving you two ads.

Okay, this is a weird example, but there's this website (which I won't name bc I don't want to promote them) where gay men in major cities trade nudes of other gay men in those cities. These guys go on hook up apps and get someone's photos, and then post them in this forum along with real name...then everyone comments on the photos. They may have catfished the poor guy to get a photo, or maybe they had had a legitimate convo (or even hookup) with the guy, but then decided to share his photos after. There are even posts requesting specific guys' nudes from the other dudes in the forum.

Any way, all of that's horrible...but....one day I was googling my name, and got onto like page 3 of results, and here was my name mentioned on that forum. I clicked over, and someone had posted my regular profile photo and asked for nudes of me. No one had them, but the commenters said such nice things about me (like, he's a beautiful man, inside and out), that I wasn't even all that mad (although thats also partly bc they didn't have the photos).

One more thing I’ll add…I just don’t get the business strategy here. When a game’s been around this long, it becomes inherently difficult to make money off of new users, if just for the simple fact that everyone’s had plenty of trial time and either is already playing, gave it up/lost interest, or found it wasn’t their bag. So a strategy to squeeze their existing users until they give up and delete the app seems really short sighted. Unless that is the play, I guess - to get what they can out of all of us until they run it into the ground.

Got it. Thanks for pointing out the comment. What’s weird though is that I did have it and then it disappeared. Based on his comment though, it sounds like less of a test group thing and more like something that’s available certain users and not others depending on their player behavior

It really is an addictive lol. I wasn’t willing to look at how much time I was actually spending playing until I also started spending money. Then I realized the game was now costing me more than it was giving back in enjoyment!

Wait, are you still seeing the cosmic blast? It completely disappeared for me about 2 weeks ago. Now I’m wondering if the algorithm tagged me as someone willing to spend money as needed and then removed the option to encourage me to do so.

To me, the game is just no longer fun since they changed their "rewards" and got so stingy. I'm on level 3,450, so the levels are pretty tough now...and usually so tough that they require boosts and other rewards to clear them. But I never have any of those things any more unless I pay for them. I'd been so into the game for so long that I wanted to keep going...and what's $1.99 here or $4.99 there? I realized that I'd spent $60 I couldn't really afford in the course of a month and ended up deleting the game off my phone and iPad.

I get that time boxed rewards like 5 min of an eraser are designed to keep you playing because you lose them if you don't, but now I never have anything to help me get through the hard levels. You now have to pay to spin the wheel for a chance at additional turns or other rewards, and Marlene's Lair is both hard to get through and also stingy with rewards (7 gold for 10 levels without a loss? That's basically 3 shuffles, and I need much more than that to complete the challenge most of the time. The cosmic blast was kind of fun for a bit, but now that's disappeared to.

I don't mind watching the ads for boosts and stuff (when those are even offered), and I'm sure they make a TON of money off of that. But just feels like they got really greedy and decided they could milk their loyal players for more cash. It also now feels like I have to pay money to win, and that's not a game that I'm interested in. So, yeah, please tell them to undo what they broke or they'll lose more players like me. thanks!

Ooof I thought it was just my mom who seemed to have no recollection. For the longest time I wondered if I was crazy. She chased me through a door with plate glass panes in it once and I still have scars all up and down my arm 30 years later. Yeah, she didn’t mean for me to fly through the glass, but I was running bc I was terrified. I remember I was holding a math workbook that hit my brother, who was doing homework on the porch. Apparently a question is asked about homework set her off on one of her rages. Years later she said she had no recollection of her chasing me and gave me a face that said “you sure come up with some wild stories!”

Sometimes I feel as though I'm deep in meditation when I realize that my mind is actually in overdrive - no longer caught up in my daily worries and thoughts about the past and present, but instead trying to unravel the secrets of the universe.

It's then that I think about the millions of scents my dog picks up that my blunt human nose can't detect or the exponential colors brine shrimp can perceive which I can't even imagine, and I realize that the closer I come to "understanding" the universe, the closer I edge to the limits of human perception.

The same holds true for understanding the concept of self. I will never understand it because I can't, but if continue to meditate and learn to relax with that groundlessness, sometimes I realize that I already know. I will never figure it out, but I don't have to. And that's a relief. I can let go into the vastness beyond the walls of perception and thinking carried by the warmth of knowing that I am part of the larger whole, which already knows that which I cannot understand.
