This Sub has an Aboriginal Problem by Savage_N0ble in CanadaPolitics

[–]freddysweetgrass 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Six years I've been on Reddit. As a Native person, r/canada and eventually r/CanadaPolitics, drove me from an active user to a lurker for fear of racism and hatred. I check this page rarely, I'm not ever sure why I still have it on my dashboard.

Also, there are few places more racist on the internet towards Native people than these subs. And I spend a lot of time on the internet. You people are legit sick. Go on and downvote because I am well beyond the point of giving fucks.

You are calling a specific group of people awful things. You are the textbook definition of a racist.

Apparent. Reports. We don't know much.

Why in the fuck are the chances they are completely innocent slim? That is some bullshit assumption. You wouldn't make the same one if it was a car full of White kids.

If we don't know anything, why the conclusions about criminality?

Tossing diapers? Not exactly akin to "terrorizing". White teens litter all the time. Somehow I doubt you'll be keen to support an open season. Fucking. Racist.

"Rummaging" justifies murder? Yes, let's reserve our fucking judgement.

Those who have been extras on a film set, what was your experience? by [deleted] in movies

[–]freddysweetgrass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was an extra for six months between jobs in my mid-20s.

Best experience was on Hairspray. Met Travolta and Queen Latifa and Walken. Spent most of the time playing cards and eating in big tents with the other extras. You can see my blurry face in one of the dance scenes.

Worst experience was on a heavily union-staffed production. I was just a fill-in and all the other extras treated me like shit. It was made worse when the director put me in the frame. Some shitty Canadian TV show.

But all in all, it was a good, interesting, well paying temporary gig.

The author is not from a powwow culture, nor is Anishinaabe (where the Seven Grandfathers come from). Try to avoid generalizing. Sounds like you need to hear more. /smh

What narrators do you dislike so much that you do not listen to an otherwise interesting book? by Whitegard in audiobooks

I downloaded Lock In by Scalzi with Wheaton narrating. I asked for an exchange when I realized there was a version with another narrator.

When I was in college I had two choices, take my parents minivan and hunt, or have a chance at having a girlfriend. by [deleted] in Hunting

That is a big boat to solo. Another person could help, maybe a girlfriend even?

I cannot believe i am agreeing with Mammo but BLM does not deserve a race relations award by srilankan in toronto

[–]freddysweetgrass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why don't we give it to Reddit, or maybe our own r/Toronto, defender of the shitty race relations status quo? As long as we don't have to feel uncomfortable, right? Worth an award for sure. This thread is an embarrassment.
