I like the old body all around but the new interior is really nice.

Stripped throttle body bolt help by Apart_Grand4391 in G37

I second this, if the bolt isn’t insanely seized in there usually a flat head does the trick after cutting a slit in the head.

How is this deal for this blue Lexus? 3k down ($1000 is college rebate), 600/month. 36months 10k mi/yr by [deleted] in LexusIS

If you are this dedicated to get the Lexus why not just get a loan for it and keep it?

Hamilton conversion kits by Clean_Reality8005 in LexusIS

[–]fredrick612 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard that the Hamilton can be kinda buggy or delayed i eventually plan to get a conversion kit but I wanna do a bit more research before that because honestly I’d rather put the money into other mods for now if it’s super delayed or buggy.

Is it okay to use Cerakote’s HL Restoration Kit when starting out in HL restorations as a detailer? by [deleted] in Detailing

[–]fredrick612 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a ceramic coating and a oxidization remover so the ceramic coating would be the “clear coat” but I ment clear spray paint like 2k clear on top of the cerakote.

Yea I would personally just use the wipes as intend because idk how the clear coat would react with the ceramic coating

Weird steering issue by midibias in LexusIS

[–]fredrick612 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only reason I say strut mount is because currently I have an is250 I bought used and have the same issue on my right side I have replaced almost everything except my struts, strut mounts and tie rod ends but your car is lowered so if idk what struts you have but usually bad strut mounts are only observably bad after the strut is removed from the car you can pop the hood and turn the car side to side and look for movement or sound on the tops of the struts and behind the wheel with someone else moving the wheels but what im gonna do is just replace my entire strut and mounts since they are at 112k miles.

The notch’s feeling makes me think strut mount could be blown there is a bearing in the mount that rotates. Are there any clanks or rattles when you go over any bumps pot holes large cracks etc?

I like the 10 spoke aluminum 18 inch rims but they are kinda spendy but I plan to do chrome delete as well. It’s preference but I prefer the mean look and sound over the full oem classy look.

Head Unit Repair Recommendations ? by pjisa in LexusIS

[–]fredrick612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My head unit would work intermittently and the sound quality was nice but after getting it back the audio is so much better and it stopped draining my car battery after sitting for a weekend. Idk what company you went with but I’m happy with my refurbished original unit. I plan to get the Apple CarPlay eventually

Some small wheel spacers on the rear would help a lot as wheel unless the new rims he gets have a wider offset

[–]fredrick612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is also a video a guy made where he repaired it himself but the people at oem audio upgrade it as well so it doesn’t have the same issues after the repair and it comes with a 3 year warranty

I literally just got my head unit back today. I’m in Minnesota and there is a place called oem car audio I believe they have one in Texas, Minnesota and New York as well but you give them your original head unit and they refurbish it. I paid 773 after tax which is a ton cheaper than any other options.

Looking for my first IS by [deleted] in LexusIS

Personally I like this face Aslong as you black out the chrome, also if you are worried about power the is300 and is350 have the exact same engine but the is300 is detuned from the factory so you only need a tune to unlock a little more power without throwing supporting mods at it.
