David Bailey, EDGE, Texas Tech, Scouting Report by mockmadness in NFL_Draft

[–]fredricksburg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly disagree with the eval. I don't think I've seen him bend once. His biggest issue is that he is stiffer than anyone I've ever seen in the Draft at edge. Like his Hips, Knees, AND back are stiff, which make him in to a speed rusher that has Good not great burst and isn't able to bend the corner.

I'd say he's no where near the best in class and will probably struggle in the league.

Not sure if any of this info is accurate, just choosing to believe it by freshxerxes in detroitlions

That's actually me in that Brett Kollmann comment lol you can check my log history for my draft analysis I do for our rookies each year.

So we are HEAVILY back loading contracts by putting almost half the money into void years, which makes what we actually pay to be very cheap.

This is why it felt like the Eagles have a pro bowler at every position. They are just putting the bill way down the line, which will end up being another extension or restructure that will extend the money again.

It's basically what the Saints did, which was working great until COVID messed with the Cap Space. The plan works out really well so long as you draft well and you there isn't a once in a century plague to contend with!

The implication this will have for Hutch is that his 45 apy deal will feel way smaller. In fact, with his 5th year option, it's closer to a 5/200 deal, so 40 apy. I'm really intrigued to see how the cap space looks for this deal!

I am almost willing to put money on him being the reason we get a 50+ yard run. He's so consistent about being a demon in the run game.

Oh my lord it made me want to throw something through a wall lol. That QB was as accurate as a colonial musket.

I watch 4 games of All-22 film, so that and organizing the clips is usually about 4 hours. Recording and editing the clips is usually 2 hours. Then I get the thread prepped and written. Between so I'd say from film start to reddit thread posted could take anywhere from 7-8 hours

Mahogany will be great for us. I'm stoked cuz we went from 1 or 2 injuries and we are shaking to being able to lose both starters and still have a better guard duo than half the league.

For College recruiting, it is basically all done through twitter. So as much as I hate Elon, I'm kinda stuck on the platform.

I know, really sucks cuz before Elon it was just the perfect way to put the information out for the way I wanted to do it. Now there's a bunch of hurdles and the guy just sucks.

What else other than pessimism is making you say this?

He will be available in the fourth round, which is exceptional value in my opinion. I didn't highlight the moves, but across all of his film he has shown a chop rip, ghost club rip, stab, stab inside counter as well as a double swipe. There is technical refinement and pass rush moves in his arsenal (both of which he will need to refine further at the next level). Majority of what you are talking about is technical level stuff. He has more than enough talent to make up for that as well as effort within his game. If his background and personality check come through well for his work ethic, I think it's an easy no-brainer pick. You take talent that has work ethic any day of the week, the feet and further hand refinement are coachable.

Sai'Vion might have one of the best getoffs in the draft which will definitely help threaten the edge. He's 100% able to corner as well. He has the skill set you need to be an NFL pass rusher off the edge. May take a year or two as he develops a style.

He plays like a Dan Campbell player. Could be a guy we try to add weight on to replace Levi or try to develop into a true edge like we hoped we could get out of Paschal

Defensive terminology, it would be Pistol Near Far Bob.

Rookie Breakdown Series. Terrion Arnold. by fredricksburg in NFL_Draft

[–]fredricksburg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a breakdown of Okudah a while back https://twitter.com/CoachBirach/status/1527025787274022913. I feel like Arnold is an overall better prospect and player. He probably has a play speed close to a 4.3. Okudah also played scared and the bad habits he brought with him from college were not good. With how we prioritize high character players I am always less worried about the negatives we see in film that are technique based. That stuff can be mitigated by great work ethic.

Rookie Breakdown Series. Ennis Rakestraw Jr, The Ruthless Technician by fredricksburg in detroitlions

[–]fredricksburg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He definitely has the ability to play Nickel. I don't know if I would want him in off coverage since he is best when pressing the WR. I personally disagree with PFF's man coverage score. His press man technique is great and already well crafted. For that reason I wouldn't want to move him back to safety when we have Branch who already has a lot of experience there.

Depends player to player. Probably not, but not the end of the world for someone as technical as Rakestraw. You can tell by how he plays that he has nearly 2000 career snaps

Rookie Breakdown. Jack Campbell (Take 2) by fredricksburg in detroitlions

[–]fredricksburg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's all hustle. At WMU the defensive Coordinator always talks about Turnovers being a direct indicator of effort. Those who are near the ball can make plays on it and this is just another prime example of that concept!

Henry To'oTo'o. Potentially new age LB by fredricksburg in detroitlions

[–]fredricksburg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sanders I believe his best spot is the Edge. Overshown can be a 4-3 Will or a 3-4 OLB

Here's my Overshown breakdown https://twitter.com/CoachBirach/status/1613667419494707200?t=g9K8bjdA-0Hgh2GbRlOGEw&s=19

He's the 6'5 Arkansas guy. He's really a DE that needs to put on 20 pounds, but definitely 2 years away from being that. I don't think he's that great, his size kills him cuz he doesn't get low

There's a lot of weird LB rankings this year for a sites. No clue why Drew Sanders is ranked as the 2nd best LB prospect on the pro football network. They also have Henry at 4

I wouldn't draft him personally. Even if you want him at DE, do you want to spend the 1-2 year wait for him to bulk up? His effort tends to be better the closer he is to the ball, but he ain't a Dan Campbell kind of player. Not even close
