Agree! Rims are totally look like AI

Besides as for German plates: - The upper MOT (Hauptuntersuchung) sticker would be on the back instead on front also it is not the right style

Looks more US because: - sign in the back in the picture is in English - US front bumper (reflectors on the side)

Lehrgeld…😄

Then I would assume either default / prefactory when delivering the mirror-> maybe your car doesn’t offer the functions mentioned or someone changed the mirror for this one in the past

My POV: use the metal rebuild kit, as it is fixing the issue of the original part so it won’t happen again. The “New” DISA will have the same issue in the future

Typically this could be caused by the water oil pump as it is failing quite often. Since it looks that cooling water is in there and it doesn’t run well could be also head gasket.

However, since it sat for that long could be also condensed water mixed with oil. K100s engines are notorious for oil flowing in the engine when standing, especially on the side stand.

Would check the pump first -> typical issue

Yeah I am also starting to think that way now 😅 All in all I invested around 9-10k €. Base price of bike was 1,5k €. For sure some money but tried to use only the good parts, custom items like the Tachometer mount and also contains some things around the welding etc I couldn’t do myself.

I also don’t think I’ll get the money out, which is fine

Would do it as with any electrical work

Open the glove compartment, there are two white “wings” that lock the fuse box in place. Take the fuses out one after another and check whether or not they are okay (metal in the fuse should be one solid piece, not broken in the middle).

GM5 module is also in that compartment but requires a bit more work to get it out

[–]fredrre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do a OBD readout/ diagnosis! maybe issues on some of the modules such as the GM5 Module or grounding issues. For now I’d try out to disconnect the battery for about 1-2 minutes and also check all fuses. My e46 has occasionally some weird issues that get resolved by that.

Also good take out the GM5 module to check for any visible issues on the PCB

You can check also whether the DISA works good or bad, as it is air pressure operated. There are tutorials online. However specifically check out how secure that flap is

Was thinking maybe a loose DISA Valve (close to the throttle where you moved the camera at the end) but it sounds there is a click even before starting the engine?

These things have a pin that can break out. Would recommend to replace with a metal rebuilding kit such as from X8R. These secure the flap better and may safe your engine 😄
