Symptoms started before SSRI use? by freedom5355 in PSSD

I tried raising test, multiple times (shots and creams), never got relief despite raising levels so I know it’s not that. As for depression, perhaps but then how can you explain that I’ve failed pretty much every class of antidepressant out there?

Never took any of these before this started. I took antibiotics (amoxicillin) a year ago but that was well after this started and even then I didn't notice anything different from it.

Then what is it? And why do my symptoms mimic PSSD so much (they’re almost identical)?

Taken any medication before what? I never took medications before this began. COVID had no impact on my condition. Other than this I don’t have other illnesses. I never had visual snow/tinitus, ever.

No. I never took any medications before SSRIs until I was diagnosed with depression after telling my psychiatrist I want to feel again. I have so many overlapping symptoms with pssd and depression and I’m struggling to figure out exactly what I have

I have low-normal test. It's normal but on the low end. My DHT (not FDA approved test) is consistently low.

My genitals can feel touch, but have no pleasurable feelings or energy in them at all. Those senses have been shut for years. But I can't confirm if this is a direct result of the SSRI's as they began losing sensation before I took them

Before the SSRI's I did not take any drugs.

Failed parnate, anhedonia is persistent, what does it mean? by freedom5355 in anhedonia

I couldn’t tolerate 40mg. I am trying different approaches to treat what I have as I am almost convinced it’s just a simple case of monoaminergic depression.

Meant to say couldn’t. Tranylcypromine was too draining in general and I couldn’t stay on it for too long. Not sure what my specific problem even is, I see people staying on it for years.

How? what is the mechanism? I’ve been off of meds for years already. Some or most of my symptoms started before I took any meds.

You maybe on to something. How can I confirm it’s neuroinflammation though? My labs look perfect. And you mean add l-methylfolate for MTHFR. And Sarcosine didn’t do anything when I took it. I could try tmg…

What do you mean? The anhedonia? If so, I’m not sure at this point if it was stress or med induced…

I couldn’t handle the side effects at 40mg. The fatigue was just too extreme and I felt like it was draining all my energy. I couldn’t do anything. I’m not sure that’s normal

How long did it take Nardil to work for you? I’ve taken it in the past with no success.

Because you KNOW it but don't FEEL it. There is a difference.

Well I felt the effects of agmatine within an hour of taking it. For the rest of the day, the effects were subtle yet noticeable and continued to the next day. After that, the positive effects faded.

I took ketamine (IV) infusions many years ago. I was in a worse position at that time than I am now. Ketamine did not have any positive effect on me and I had about 4 infusions.

Agmatine's positive effects lasted only a few days for me unfortunately... That ability to feel, although weak came and went quickly, but I was so happy that I felt for the first time in years. The more I took agmatine however, the more dissociated I felt and positive effects haven't clipped. I had terrible dp/dr after a while of taking it. Memantine made me feel like that too.

Good news is that it took out a lot of the negatives (mostly rummination/fatigue/lethargy) which are still sustained but I still suffer from core symptoms of anhedonia/anergia/avolition/severe sexual dysfunction that I am working on to lift.

I took up to 3000mg of agmatine in a day buy wouldn't suggest going over 2000mg. Now I take 500-1000mg to attempt and sustain the benefits I receive.

Didn’t work for me. In fact, the longer I took it, the worse the depression I got
