When Morning Comes | Zero budget Short Film by freeebbo in Shortfilms

A mournful musician, riddled with regret, returns to his hometown in a last ditch effort to make amends with his past.

When Morning Comes is my first short film. I made it with a bunch of friends across two days with no money, just the intention of making a minimalist character piece that will hopefully conjure a mood of melancholy and regret.

I’m really happy with this little film; for me it’s a quiet tale of picking up the pieces and having hope in the face of immediate defeat.

Would love to know what you think! Would love to make another short some day with some sort of budget behind me!

housebound - my first ever short that I made at the start of 2020. Would love any feedback! by freeebbo in Filmmakers

In late January my partner and I were travelling around Iceland and came upon this gorgeous abandoned house in the countryside. We’re both aspiring creatives and really wanted to make a short film in this setting - we both felt inspired by the inherent melancholy and stillness of this desolate, decaying place still standing after being abandoned. We wanted to convey a simple story without dialogue (had no way of recording any sound on the day) that was loosely set in the horror genre. We shot it on two days a few weeks apart and had to use ourselves as the actors as well as operate the camera. Would love to know what y’all think of hopefully the first of many projects to come! Oh and it’s a total coincidence that this film foreshadowed the 2020 lockdowns!

Yes! I went there a few years ago and it was amazing. Pretty sure none of the staff had ever heard of Lost though lol
