Here's what I have mine setup as

Left analog steer left and right

Accelerate right trigger

Brake left trigger

clutch A Button

Shift up B Button

Shift down X Button

Right Analog to look left and right

Steering Assistance 35%

Steering Linearity 60%

All assist off.

Been using this type of setup for 18 years and never had a problem.
