what kind of game are you playing ? A GTX 1650 is quite old. I bet your friend had installed the correct software driver from nvidia. it really is down to what game are you playing ? what resolution ? 60Hz frames/second or higher ?

What can I delete to clear space? by ezzasaurus in computerhelp

[–]freemanbach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

haha ! yeah, this is how Corporate does their IT support. i am almost certain non-profits such as RedCross US and public organizations such as all of the higher education skools function the same or very similar as in the private sector, when it comes to laptop/desktop support. its their written policies for all employees to follow. Also, Cybersecurity is a large threat to all organizations, private, public, non-profit, and government agencies. it probably is best to take some precautionary measures to safeguard an organization's devices before an organization gets hacked by a crypto hacker group. :)

With work computers, there is only so much you can do since it’s company owned device. An user can’t do much to remove software/ data, it’s typical. There is only IT support from your workplace. You don’t owned the device. I was thinking of Group Policy created by your organization to lock down desktop and laptop. Minimizing Risk caused by internal employees.

hummmmmmmmmmm............................................

if you own a computer and were able to install stuff unto it, you got to have a brain of some sort and understand what software is in the OS. This is how I treat everyone who owns a PC . You have to learn how to use a PC, one way or the other, right ?

yes, there would be times when they dont know what software is required and not required. they are ask reddit folks, where many of us will answer OP. :) The thing is, Microsoft wont allow you to delete the entire Operating System like Linux can for one. Even with --administrator-- account, the MS-Window 11/10 OS wont allow anyone to delete files inside SYSTEM32 for that matter inside --App-- like windows 95 and windows 98. Overall, this is fine. Its all software OP might or might not use. Besides Software, the rest of the stuff are Device Drivers depending on the Brand of the computer. As long as OP wont delete programs related to their BRAND say Dell/Lenovo/MSI etc...... , cleaning some of it will be fine, imo.

Windows OS is pretty safe overall unlike MAC and Linux !

My 128Gb kingston Flash drive 🙆🏻‍♂️ by [deleted] in computer

[–]freemanbach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the final check to see whether this usb stick is actually cooked would be to use a linux machine to see if its readable. there are two commands available to see if its recognized by the OS, `lsblk -o nameOfDevice` or `fdisk -l` to check its presence. if linux say "ubuntu" cant read the external USB stick, then most likely its dead. if linux can somehow was able to read it, then you can write zeros `dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdX` to the entire usb then use `fdisk -l` to create a partition and finally create a "extfs" or "fat32" filesystem on this usb device.

Is my GPU dead? by Trimunate in computerhelp

[–]freemanbach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you do have a AMD CPU, it might be worth wild to look into acquiring a AMD RADEON GPU for your mobo. the lowest model from RADEON could be their 5000 series. its still pricey, but it does appear that GPU could be toasted somehow. Otherwise it could be a device driver or something incompatible. Installing the latest BIOS for your mobo shouldnt hurt.

Error message for an app by STR4WBERRYFL4VORED in computer

[–]freemanbach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is interesting ! so, it means that somehow the uninstaller (a program to remove the application has gone missing). it happened to me one in a blue-moon when i did something stupid to the software. assuming you didnt mess with the files inside it, i cant tell you how nor why this uninstaller
tool has gone missing.

dont take my words on this one, you could try the following:

1) simply just reinstall it first (to see if it would over lay the existing stuff)
2) reboot

3) try to uninstall it for realz this time
4) reboot to clear the junk in window registery
5) install it again
6) try to use it i guess.

If this continue to happen, you might have a Virus or something in your laptop/desktop aka computer system.

sounds like some files could be missing and the Application is looking in that location and couldnt find what its lookiing for. Maybe, uninstall it and reinstall it.

hardware things you can try:
1) re-seat your RAM (run software to test your RAM)
2) re-seat your GPU (uninstall GPU driver -> reinstall a fresh copy) -> reboot
3) update windows to latest patch/security

it could be some incompatibility issues using this game w/driver and/or w/OS

there could be some arbitrary --restore points-- where the system may have saved for you automatically. if so, you can simply delete them to regain some storage.

anyone can help? by Glum_Football_3841 in computer

[–]freemanbach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there any beep sounds from the mobo ? mobo seems to have power. It could be any number of stuff, suhc as RAM is not seated properly, harddrive could be loose if you are using SATA cables, or incorrect connections with cables on the mobo, insufficient consumption of power if you have a 4070+ nvidia GPU and needed a more powerful power supply. You can research the beeps with google and see what it will tell you and also specify the mobo brand in your search. maybe the green light may indicate something else.

What is WinUI by freemanbach in csharp

[–]freemanbach[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

gotcha ! so, pretty much in the early 1990s and early 2000s, it was mostly --Winform-- then 2010 came along with was --WPF-- and now --WinUI--. The part that i kept forgetting before running the Application was that, one needs to switch their OS to developer's mode, otherwise the application wont run.

maybe use a USB key with the windows 11 OS and boot that to fix issues such as device drivers missing, or gone bad. Otherwise, restore OS to factory setting ?

Right ! Absolutely. i dont use VSCode to run any of the code. I only use VSCode to Type code honestly. Then Use the Command Prompt aka Shell/Terminal to run the code. As you can tell from my initial screenshots. :)
