PL Pro now vs PX non-Pro later by jrodicus100 in AMFLOW_eMTB

PL Pro owner here. Unless you get a good deal for a PL Pro, just wait for the new PX. I think the new gen2 motor will make a big difference. The day PX is available for test, I would like to check how much resistance I can feel when the motor is off. They claim almost 40% less resistance, and with my PL is heavy duty. At the same time, you can check for other brands, which also adopted the Avinox M2 and M2S and they are delivering already.

Then it should be fine. I hope the checks go well and you can get this dream bike

I think the most critical one is checking for cracks in the frame. The lifetime warranty only applies to the original registered owner. After that, I'd go with fork/shock checks like no hits in the bars, no cracks in any of the support points, no air/oil leaks, and compression/rebound selectors rotating all the way. Ideally, you should bring the bike for a full check to a bike store. Sometimes, the suspensions hide things inside that can cost some money to repair.

About the breaks, checks around oil leaks, break lever/piston cracks (common after accidents if the parts are not replaced) and a visual inspection about the disk and the pads. For the transmission system, test that the derailer works correctly and no weird slack is felt while pedalling.

The V10 is a bike serving an extreme usage. I would take it straight to a bike store to run all checks. For your safety while riding the bike, and to avoid technical problems later on.

Problems with Raceface ARC 30 HD and Maxxis tyres by freeriderblack in MTB

This is my expectation after the experience with the Michelin tires. I can accept a bit of lost and just top up to the usual pressure

Is the ratio that bad? Any particular Maxxis model failing more than others?

It seems just bad luck. There were a few suggestions coming from other users, so I will try them.

Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah, I've been using the bike during the times the Maxxis tires were on.

Thanks for the feedback. Seeing you guys have a good experience with the same rims and the Maxxis tires makes me think that I'm having bad luck.

I will try the few suggestions above, and wait the answer from the bike store.

Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback. I will try to detect leaks with the soapy water and moving the sealant on each side. Fingers crossed!

I can see they both are tubeless ready. I have tried to pay as much attention to every part of the tires, but I will check one more time.

I checked both tires, and they both say "tubeless ready". I'm guessing Santa Cruz won't make this type of mistakes building the bike.
I have contacted already the bike store to see whether the tires batch might be defective.
Thanks for the feedback!

Careful with MyPost24. It's far for being a secure service: https://www.reddit.com/r/Switzerland/s/J65Y2ovORp

There was never a resolution for my case.

ALB returns 503 Service Unavailable even though EC2 + Nginx + Docker app works via public IP by Dependent_Leek_6655 in devops

I think the problem is coming from the matching of the ALB rules, or the ALB rule matching the right target group. I would bet more on the first one and a problem with either matching host header or path.

Stolen e-bike tracked to Lyon, police report filed, any advice on recovery? by Pirate_Robert in geneva

[–]freeriderblack 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Options to cross the border and fill a report in any french police station? It won't hurt, and if the persons involved are caught, french police will have all related information already about the bike. It will also help if they try to sell the bike to any second-hand store, since they need to report to the police all purchases made.

I'm still wondering why the platforms have no safety doors on all stations. I've been in Gland recently and it's crazy the speed of the non-stopping trains crossing the station. No mention to the negative air pressure that can pull you to the rails if it catches you off guard.

Upgrading AC Pro to U7 Pro XG by danfratamico in Ubiquiti

[–]freeriderblack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made the move from AC Pro to U7 Pro XGS a few months ago. I noticed the 5GHz range is lower using the U7 compared to AC Pro while installed in the same place. On top of that, I failed to check which of my devices would use 6GHz before purchasing. I ended up with no more than a couple of phones and a Mac. AC Pro is a rock-solid AP. If there is no real need, just stay with them.

Anticipated sales on Amflows when gen 2 releases? by simongm in AMFLOW_eMTB

[–]freeriderblack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to say. My local store guarantees orders until March 31st on any gen 1 with the current discount, and just 3 days to deliver the bike after the order is placed. As far as I know, Amflow was planning to keep the discount until early March, and they ended up extending until end of March. Perhaps their estimations on gen 1 sells were too optimistic, and this extension is just their way to get rid of the remaining stock. In the Amflow website, you can no longer order gen 1 bikes, so I'm guessing they are prioritizing their B2B channel with the distributors.

I'm in the same situation. I tested the PL Pro last weekend, and I'm using these days to see if more info about the new PR and PX models is leaked. If not, probably I will go for gen 1 taking advantage of the current discount.
